Route Suggestion: Dublin Area Rapid Transit (DART) – Northern Commuter Line

Hello everyone! I have a suggestion for a route that I think would be a fantastic addition to Train Sim World 5—the DART Northern Commuter Line! This route would offer a fresh and exciting experience with beautiful scenery, challenging operations, and a chance to explore a new and unique rail system. Here's why I think it would be an excellent fit:

Why DART Northern Commuter Line Should Be in TSW5:

    1. Stunning Coastal Views & Iconic Scenery
The DART Northern Commuter Line is known for its breathtaking coastal views and scenic landscape.

Beautiful Views of Dublin Bay: The route runs along the Irish Sea, offering spectacular views of cliffs, beaches, and water, especially at stations like Clontarf Road.
Landmarks like the Malahide Viaduct: Driving across the Malahide Viaduct would give players the chance to experience one of Ireland’s most iconic railway structures.
Changing Landscapes: From the bustling city of Dublin to the quieter countryside beyond Drogheda, this route offers a wide variety of environments.

    2. Unique Rolling Stock
The DART Northern Commuter Line introduces unique and exciting trains to TSW5.

DART 8100 Class (EMU): These electric multiple units offer smooth acceleration and braking, creating a fun and dynamic experience.

DART 8600 Class (EMU): The DART 8600 series provides a highly realistic and versatile train with both local and intercity capabilities, contributing to the diverse experience of operating different services across the line.

IE 29000 Class (DMU): This diesel commuter train would provide a different experience, ideal for longer-distance services.
Variety of Train Types: The mix of electric and diesel trains would offer diverse challenges, giving players the opportunity to experience different driving techniques.

    3. High-Frequency Commuter Operations
The DART Northern Commuter Line operates with high-frequency services, which would make for a busy and engaging experience.

Frequent DART Services: The route features short wait times between trains, ensuring a dynamic, fast-paced gameplay experience.
Intercity Traffic & AI Interaction: Players will need to coordinate with other services, like intercity trains and freight, for a more realistic and challenging operation.
Manual Level Crossings: The route features level crossings that players can control, adding a unique hands-on element to the experience.

    4. New Rail System to Explore
Train Sim World has covered many regions, but Ireland’s rail system would be a fresh and exciting addition.

Different Signaling Systems: Irish Rail uses a distinct signaling system, which would add more depth and challenge to the driving experience.
Authentic Stations & Architecture: The route would feature stations with distinctive Irish designs, showcasing modern and historic architecture along the way.

    5. Realistic Passenger Experience
With busy stations and high-frequency services, this route would provide a realistic passenger experience.

Lively Stations: Major hubs like Connolly and Malahide would be bustling with passengers, especially during peak times.
High Capacity Trains: The DART 8100 Class, DART 8500 Class, and DART 8600 Class trains can carry many passengers, and players would need to carefully monitor train schedules and stops to keep everything running smoothly.

    6. Complex Track and Station Layouts
The DART Northern Commuter Line features complex track configurations and station layouts, adding a new level of challenge.

Tight Curves & Junctions: Places like Howth Junction and Drogheda require careful speed management, providing strategic driving moments.
Multi-Track Sections: The route includes areas with single and double tracks, offering players the chance to navigate busy intersections and keep up with schedules.

    7. Immersive Sound and Atmosphere
The sounds and atmosphere on the DART Northern Commuter Line would contribute to an immersive experience.

Distinct Train Sounds: The DART 8100, 8500, 8600, and 29000 Class trains each have their own sound profiles, from the smooth hum of electric trains to the thrum of diesel engines.
Authentic Ambiance: Passengers' announcements in both English and Irish, along with the sounds of trains, crowds, and rain, would create a realistic atmosphere.

Conclusion: Why DART Northern Commuter Line Is a MUST for TSW5
The DART Northern Commuter Line offers:
✔️ Stunning coastal views and iconic landmarks
    ✔️ Challenging, high-frequency commuter operations
✔️ Unique rolling stock with the DART 8100, 8500, 8600, and 29000 Classes
✔️ Expansion potential with future routes and freight operations
✔️ A completely new, immersive experience to explore

Who else would love to see Ireland’s DART Northern Commuter Line come to Train Sim World 5? Let's get behind this idea and bring a fresh new route to the game!:D

Yeah, it would be great to see another new country in the game and Ireland would be a good choice, is it the whole DART if so how long is it and what safety systems are there in this new country?

this would be amazing as I'm from balbriggan, would the track gauge be an issue as its (5 ft 3 in). This unusually broad track gauge is otherwise found only in Australia.

    CAWS (Continuous Automatic Warning System)

A driver vigilance system that provides warnings when approaching signals at caution or danger.
Works similarly to AWS (Automatic Warning System) used in the UK.
If the driver does not acknowledge the warning, an automatic brake application is triggered.
ATP (Automatic Train Protection) – On Certain Sections

Some sections of the line have ATP, which works alongside CAWS to ensure trains adhere to speed limits and signal aspects.
It prevents overspeeding and enforces emergency braking if necessary.
TPWS (Train Protection & Warning System) – Limited Use

Mainly installed at high-risk locations, such as major junctions and terminal stations.
It provides extra protection against SPADs (Signal Passed at Danger) and excessive speeds at critical locations.
Dublin Area Centralized Traffic Control (CTC)

The DART network is controlled from the Dublin Central Traffic Control Centre.
Automatic Signaling is used, but manual intervention can be applied when needed.
Level Crossings – Manual and Automatic

The route features both manually operated and automatic level crossings, requiring interaction from signal operators or train drivers if you were asking

looks like a kinda familiar territory if we know UK trains, so why not :) tho I believe Ireland uses a wider gauge?
