Adam said that SHG did look at the idea but it wouldn't have much to do on this route or something along those lines :)

    ROFLOL

Well the "R" question has been pointedly asked several times now in the thread and surely they can't ignore that in the name of integrity.

Also see further concerns in the Q&A that neither the Class 150/2 or the 153 have the correct sound mix. I mean, given the backlash after WCL, the ongoing references to the fact and that it has been one of the main questions asked since the Cardiff route was announced, it would be pretty stupid to, 1. Not actually ensure the good sounds from AP were mixed properly and 2. Particularly dense to continue to ignore the fact if they haven't.

FLIRTs don’t operate on this route. For the time being they are being used on the Rhymney Valley as well as the TAM lines for the time being until the Trams come into service. 150/153 still being used on the Coryton Runs

Heard elsewhere it was “too expensive” to extend the extra 6 miles to Barry Island!

Because it's deceptive for DTG to claim it's their route when Rivet games have had a clear involvement just like they did in WCML South and need I remind everyone how much of a disaster that route was on release?

Rivet have had every opportunity to improve but they haven't and now you can't even give them feedback because their forums have shut down.

But if you want proof Rivet are behind Cardiff lets consider the fact that DTG are releasing a Dutch route right after this one, off world destinations are *still* not implemented which is a classic Rivet signature and the same buildings Rivet keep using in their routes is present in Cardiff.

If it went out to Barry island would have been worth the £30 price tag

100% So If they are saying that is 'too expensive' why was Birmingham Cross City not a problem? It is kind of similar isn't it. But Dovetail gave us all terminating stations! Why can't they for this route?

For £30 you get: buildings that aren't aligned properly[IMG]

    Ugly looking Ballast:

    No off world destinations AGAIN:
(Heath High Level is listed as the terminus even though this service ends at Caerphilly)

All of this is proof of Rivet's involvement, I understand giving a route to a third party to spread resources efficiently but Rivet have not shown any sign of improvement across their UK catalog and continue to disappoint. We all want TSW to succeed and for this route to be great otherwise we wouldn't be here but these signs are not looking good for the first Welsh route.

Well it is kind of... In so far as why are we being asked to pay £30 for this micro route with one new train, as I touched on in my questions. Rather than a more realistic <£25.

I understand why they chose Radyr, Coryton and Penarth but Barry Island would’ve added additional scenarios/timetables to run. Could’ve even gone as North as Pontypridd!! Opportunity missed I think!

Even more concerning than the fact they shut down their forum is the fact that their community manager doesn't seem to be on here anymore - perhaps they read it, but I haven't read a response in a while.

l wish Rivet would give up route designing as their work is absolutely appalling and they just continue to show poor and shoddy work. It is now beyond a joke!!

As for improving their previous failures, they simply cannot be bothered and have closed their forums because of this. I am amazed that DTG allow Rivet to continue with route design. Let them only do Locomotive design work please in future, as their routes are always a failure in most parts!!

Oh, I didn't realize the route was so short. Pretty soon, I'll be able to play an entire route in one 30 minute session, I won't even need the save feature.

    My Q&A:
How far can " shrinkflation " take us? I mean 40 bucks plus tax for 20 miles is outrageous! Is $2 per mile the new standard?

    No thank you.

I've made my feelings clear many times on the 'Rivet' question.

But more and more evidence is pointing towards their involvement... As frustrating as it is, DTG are like Basil Faulty hiring Mr O'Reilly to fix the hotel.

It's not as if DTG are naive to Rivets quite appalling work. There are countless pages of articulate, valid and good feedback for them to improve from. Do they learn? Nope. Do they want to learn? Nope. Is the feedback there for them to learn? Yes, in the masses.

And with that being said DTG think it's good enough to charge you £30 for the pleasure... If this preview goes anything like WCMLS did, this will be the final straw that broke the camels back for DTGs image and reputation. For me personally and many others, I can assure you.

I'm eagerly awaiting the preview and that will be the nail in the coffin for me with DTG if it's the typical Rivet quality route. They want to sit in the dark and not be transparent about their involvement, be my guest. But I won't be spending a penny more and they can sit in the gutter along with Rivets public image.

I really pray to god I'm wrong, but my gut instinct tells me otherwise. Sick and tired of this now.

Am I jumping the gun and being overly harsh? Possibly. But the evidence just keeps on piling up Infront of me...

Will just have to wait until what the preview has to show...

I was so looking forward to this route but the length has really disappointed me and the price as well I will still buy it but not a day one purchase I'm afraid because if its got the blurriness and the freezing i ain't paying £30 I just bought mildmay and its terrible because of that.

As said, going to keep all judgement for the preview tomorrow but if its the quality that WCML was released in I can't be supporting something like that and I refuse to support Rivet's work as they have no intention at all in improving. (again speculation regarding whether Rivet have been included)

they reworked the sounds but the 150/2 horn isn't reworked ;-( the horn is definitely still rubbish and haven't been reworked I am still having doubts about this and those so called reworked sounds

Agree, but I have a feeling the preview will be the usual pink headphones, inter colleague banter and no attempt to address the questions.

Even if they confirm Rivet not involved and that the 150/153 sounds and physics are a superb remix, I can't in all honesty see it's worth £30.

Oh yes they can. My guess is that if Rivet have nothing to do with this route, they will answer it, if they have, they will ignore it. They usually only answer questions that are favourable to them (apart from the occasion minor “does this route contain…” question that may get a curt “No” from Matt or the guest developer.

I have to agree mate as well. I just want to wait for the preview stream and see for myself but seeing some of the first aspects that 'off world' destinations may not be included could be major as it ruins the immersion, But the scenery needs to be 'wow' as said before Welsh Scenery is amazing. Not been down that line before but I live in Shrewsbury and have travelled on the Welsh Marches Line, Shrewsbury to Chester line and Crewe line and the scenery is amazing so I assume the Scenery down on the route they are making is something similar I really do want to travel down that line, just finding the time when to do that. But if the scenery is all botched I can't be buying it because it just looks horrendous. WCML South Scenery was horrifying in my opinion.
    Scottish Scenery horrifying.

The latter is going to be based on gameplay for me, if the route is good quality wise & we get some (good) answers on textures & QA , then I’ll be quite open to this one. Gameplay has to be there though, if they’re going for a network, this absolutely has to have a good timetable.

Of course if it comes out with the usual ‘reports from QA are good bla bla’ & they dodge the Rivet question whilst showing us an unfinished low quality route, then it can just go in the pile with the rest of them.

Matt cannot continue to tell us that QA has gone well, when he as the EP hasn’t actually seen it & he cannot keep signing off on Rivet published content which needs extensive work doing, after we buy it.

I live down in the South. From the lines included in the route, the only nice bit of scenery is by Radyr and between Grangetown and Cogan where you can see the hills. Other than that it’s city scapes or fields.

No more cash leaving my hands until you sort out the performance issues on PlayStation 5. Blur and stuttering is getting worse. Why are you not sorting this out. What is going on. This issue is on loads of threads now being discussed and you said you would sort it.

Did they preview those on gen9? Pretty sure it was PC.

The only thing console is getting in terms of previews is Matt’s word they’re in good condition, but that is not the case.

As far as I'm concerned, why they're involved doesn't matter as long as we know they are. The answer to why they're involved can be easily guessed I think.

I really couldn't care less about who or what and why they are or were involved in the product creation, if it's something I want I will be buying it, so if I'm part of the reason the angry mob keep getting more obsessively angry because products with Rivets involvement keep selling I will be smiling and chuckling to myself about it......

The first preview could be on console. So that we don't end up buying a bunch of blurry textures again.
