If steam now came to TSW3 only British routes are available, This should change.
We must not forget Germany in these things. Therefore my suggestion to set up the last route which was steam hauled in Germany which was the famous Emsland Line from Rheine with its majestic Steam Depot and Workshop

(Photos and screens are from Nico Spilt his website "Langs de Rails" )

    Route suggestion:
Rheine-Emden in 1963 with the famous steam locomotives classes Br 01.10, Br 41, Br 44 and 50,
    Silberlinge, (ABn, Bn, BDnf738), D-train coaches: Classes A4umg, AB4umgm, B4umg,
BD4umg and WR4um types. also luggage car Type: MDie and MDyg also known as: "Behelfswagen".

    Furthermore:
Ore Hoppers Type: Ootz42, Coal Hopper Type: Tds928, Boxcars Type: Gbs254, Boxcars Type: Ghs Oppeln and Gs Oppeln, Flat cars "Von Haus zu Haus" Type: Lbs578 and Lbs584, Flat cars type: Hbs,
and also the typical Crude Oil tankers which were in use by DB to transport stoking oil for oil fired engines such as the 01.10 and some classes 44

    The route:

The route is not electrified and should contain identical semaphore signalling and the famous Bw Rheine (Depot and shop) with the famous bridges along the line with the lines to Munster, to Salzbergen and Hengelo (NL). The route contains mainly flatland countryside with wide views canals and bridges. And runs north- and southbound east of the Dutch border.

The route itself was very popular due to the fact the last western European steam locos worked this route with passenger services until 1975 and freight services until 1977. Bw Rheine was the last working steam depot ever in western Europe

The route was also created for MSTS by a German company

Which is now involved in some of the Train Sim Classic engines like the famous Class 103 and 218 and therefore not really new but should be still brand new for TSW3

Some more photo's from this magnificent route.

    The famous Double-Headed Class 44 steam hauled Ore Train "Lange Heinrich";

Express trains Hauled by the class 01.10 passing each other

At the station of Leer with a MDie or MDyg "Beheflswagen" as luggage car behind a class 01.10:[IMG]

This route will be the most amazing route if created concerning the continent of Europe.

    Best regards,

Excellent idea overall furthermore DB Baureihe 218 220 Maybach can run here. The latter can run NID.

Thanks for the quick response. The class V200 (Br 220) took over the services of class 01.10 in the summer of 1975 and while the British sister of v200 is present and available for TSW3 why not the DB class 220. However I prefer steam above all. Hopefully DTG announced a new DB engine to come. It is my wish to have the V200 or V160 or the E10, E40 in the livery as they came in service in the 50's (non-Bugelfalte)

Let´s bring this thread up again.
As a fan of the oil-fired Br. 41 I totally support this idea. Why is there still no German steam loco for TSW?

I like the route, but prefer the present era. This includes the Westfalenbahn Flirt 3.
