I've just done a full speed run from Euston to Milton Keynes in a class 390, speeding only twice. Timetable mode. But I only achieved 7000 or something points, enough for Gold. There is a maximum score of 12,250 on the service, I don't understand where the remaining 5000 points are supposed to come from. Does anyone know?
You need to turn safety systems on properly. The thing to beware on this loco is that two switches are required to turn on AWS.
Yea one switch on the back panel second from the right flip that switch on then switch the turn key one underneath
Thanks a lot. Is there a trophy for scoring platinum or is it just a novelty ? Also temporary tilt Normal was flashing yellow when I started driving, I isolated that to stop it flashing.
That's annoying. Just done another service with DSD and Vigilance on, and what I thought was AWS on but obviously not properly set up as I only got 35 What I thought was a fantastic run, I only got 186 points on arrival at Milton Keynes (compared to 200 odd before), obviously I've done something wrong. A lot seems to have changed since TSW 2 lol
With safety systems on, it's usually pretty 'easy' to get a platinum if you drive anywhere close to 'properly', so I'm not sure what's going on for you. As for the tilt warnings, keep acknowledging them like you would for AWS/DSD/vigilance until it settles down.
If you share a screenshot of your scoresheet after your run, we can see what you scored for the different components. Driving with safety systems alone should net you 6,000 points. So that could be the problem.
Could be that the platinum score for this service is not calculated correctly (happens more often), as you do have platinum on other services. What was your score on those services?
Could be that safety systems were off for at least part of the journey. Check the rewarded scores underway to see how much you get for each 400yds (65 or 35 points)
Does the wcml penalise you for being early? I was about 10 mins early into Euston and only got 160-something timeliness bonus, compared to 200+ other times It's not my fault, the signaller should have slowed me down lol if my passengers get where they want earlier what's the problem
Yes it does. If you are a few minutes early, you will miss all 80 points for being on time. This will however not influence your total score by much.
Why even is it a score deduction if we get somewhere early!? There's already enough of a score calculation algorithm to make sure we didn't arrive early due to breaking speed limits, so it's all luck and skill. As long as you don't depart early (...I guess that could one day be a point malus? but please no lol) it should be full time score.
10 mins is a bit too early to be arriving. Generally, if you think you're going to arrive early, slow down. Just because the speed limit is 125 doesn't mean you have to be at that speed.
