What DLC should i buy? Fife Circle Trans Pennine Cathcart Circle Suffragette WCML (i dont have enough so idk why i put it)
For me Cathcart but you need the class 380 to get the best out of the route which is a separate add on. if that makes it out of budget then Suffragette
At this point, Cathcart as long as you can afford the 380 too. If you can't, Suffragette. The only thing to note is all these routes are very different in terms of style, so depends on your personal preferences too for route-style
Never understand threads like these, only YOU can decide. Do some research, look at reviews, watch some Youtube video's of the routes Which era do you prefer, modern? BR Blue? Bus Stop routes? High Speed? Check which routes require layers to be more filled, do you have required routes? etc. etc. etc.
I kind of agree with this as everyone’s taste is different. What might be good for one player might not be the same for another player. YouTube is great for getting an idea of a DLC before buying it. You can watch some videos and then decide if you like what you see or not. There’s also Preview Streams for every route too.
Which WCML? If Shap then I would say that should be number one priority, so long as you don’t mind the stutters wrecking the Class 87 sounds. WCMLS comes with baggage, maybe not as bad as on first release and you really also need to buy the Class 390 to get the best from it. If you want BR Classic diesels, then NTP is an absolute must. Cathcart is an electric bus service. Fife Circle has Rivet quality issues and the 170 isn’t that great sound wise.
My preference would be NTP (unless you mean WCMLoS) but it's old and showing it's age now and in massive need of some love. The timetable is poor and you also really need the Heavy Freight Pack which adds a bit more variety but still a poor timetable. As I say, that's my preference because I prefer BR Blue period and one man's treasure could be another man's junk
Ultimately, it's up to you what you want. But for. But seeing as you asked... A decent-ish route. Quiet timetable although will be busier when Skyhook get the 158 timetable sorted. A bit outdated, but if BR era diesels and the setting are your thing, yes. Better with the BR Heavy Freight Pack. InterCity and regional services. BR Heavy Freight Pack allows for additional shunting movements. Fun fact: its busier in TSW than in real life during the period the route's set. Stop start electric bus service. Three different end points. The 380 add on gives you an extra train to drive. Enhanced with layers (off the top of my head ScotRail 158 - adds AI traffic plus two early morning depot movements, Tees Valley for the Class 37 - another I'd recommend if you like the NTP one, and the Pendolino - this is not driveable but adds AI traffic). Another stop start electric bus service. Great detail throughout though. If North - definite yes. Make sure you have all the layers. If South - will allow you to drive the Pendolino. Not a bad route per se.
Don’t get that one - especially if not also buying the 158. The route itself is really quite poor in terms of scenery, and the sounds on the 385 are awful. The 158 comes with a new timetable for it which improves gameplay markedly, but the underlying route and scenery is poor IMO
If you’re on PC and can get mods the WCMLS plus the 390, and the Suffragette to get the 710 if your money will stretch. Or wait for a sale and get them all.
