i had tried the superalbs one also and it works. Sorry forgot to mention it in a previous post.
Honestly I am getting the ATS stuff simply because of the discounts.Of course mainly necessary stuff.
I didnt get the steam version of the 313, 315 and 319, i had (base) crossed out simply to mark that i dont need no more. When I usually have a product bought I cross out the entire name.

Destinations....just copy the VP ones over
Interior.......copy over the VP interior textures. You may need to copy over the passenger view folder and edit the .bin files for the coaches to point to it.

Compare various .bin files and see if you can work out how it all works together. Can't help much more I'm afraid, still not got everything going after the move----can only get online from the cafe!!

No, use RW Tools/TS Tools or a proper xml editor or Notepad++
Notepad has been known to garble xml documents.

my brain is about to explode... I wanna do loco swap on a scenario on the WCML south, but i need tstools to extrat whatever properties. Then needing to use TStools to do some edits again. And I have yet to figure out how to properly use these editing apps... headache... ah...

I find LocoSwap (Release LocoSwap v1.6.0.0 · flicard/LocoSwap · GitHub) easier to use than TSTools to do loco or other rolling stock swaps. No need to unpack .ap files.

As Andy says, LocoSwap is the best choice for changing the stock in scenarios. If you have everything for a scenario and want to change things (like swapping DTG stock for AP equivalents) I usually do it in the game itself, but that won't work if you don't have everything.

And remember, the only train you need in a scenario is the player train - anything else is not required for the scenario to run (most of the time). So if you have the player train but are missing other things, start the scenario as normal and press F2 to get rid of the missing stock error. You can save a lot of time doing that, although using LocoSwap to change every missing train will obviously look and feel better.

putting aside the loco swap and TS Tools for now because its really giving me a headache.

Honest question, what usage is there for Mk2A and B even?

They're appropriate for most BR Blue era routes. Individual services are something you might be better off asking on the RailUK Forums.

ooh- suppose to should've been more specific in terms of their usage in current time on the railways.

Currently Mk2a & Mk2b stock is only found on a few preserved railways and in a few coaches used for railtours.

In fact there is only a limited number of Loco Hauled Passenger trains in the UK
Chiltern Marylebone to Birmingham and Kidderminster using 68's, Mk3 coaches and a DVT.
LNER services between Leeds and London using Class 91's, Mk4 coaches and a DVT
Transport for Wales Swansea/Cardiff to Manchester or Holyhead using Class 67's, Mk4 Coaches and a DVT

There are also the Sleeper services
London to Penzance using Class 57's, Mk3 sleepers - I don't know if there is a Mk2F Lounge car or if its now a Mk3

London to Scotland using 92's and Mk5 Sleepers London to Edinburg and Glasgow.
Trains beyond Edinburgh to Aberdeen or Fort William use a Class 73/9 from Edinburgh
Trains beyond Edinburgh to Inverness use either two 73/9s or a 73/9 piloted by a GBRf 66 from Edinburgh

What is great about TSC is that it caters for all tastes. The nostalgic, the modern, Late 20th Century. Multiple Countries. All of these desires and collections are up to the individual to decide what is best for them. It is fantastic that we can all go after our own selections yet help each other out here when we come against an impediment.
    Respectfully

This one is correct. At least from my existing knowledge of watching railtour videos.
Like not a lot of "sets" (because... idk carriages leasing companies would just usually put carriages as a certain consist and never changes it unless a coach needs maintenance ig?) would contain a MK2A and or B. And what also pains me that this exist.
Which if you cant tell by the windows alone, this is a Mk2A/B with the brake compartment being replaced with a generator.
Another Mk2A/B on railtour would be something like the Mk2 chocolate and cream set? from something like this set of coaches. Idk who own these.
and for some reason a lot of steam engines have Mk2A/B as support coaches?? Cant tell who have those tho.

There is one main spotting feature of the Mk2/Mk2a from other coaches and that is the end doors
The coach in your picture has Wrap Round Doors which makes it a Mk2B BFK.
AP made a picture showing both types on end doors
    APMK2A-C_20-1024x576.png

In the video of the train those coaches nearest the Steam loco are Mk2a TSO.with centre doors and end doors that don't wrap round

From the pictures I have seen and taken most Steam loco support coaches tend to be Mk1 stock - usually a BSK.

    Well uh... 44871 said otherwise?
Look at the first 2 coaches. the first is a support coach is a Mk2B then the next coach is a MK2A. (Also thanks for telling the difference because I really thought both are kinda the same).

GOOOOD NEWS!!!! From the latest Steam Sale I was able to get my hands on Trent Valley, and with that it means.

I HAVE COMPLETED THE WCML!!! All the way from Euston to Glasglow!! (not counting blackpool and Northampton loop yet lol)
Now waiting on AP's end to have the Class 319 to be on sale and that would be another batch of purchases done.

and here is the updated bucket list now!
    TSC wishlist.png

By the way if Gary Padley can teach me how to edit the 442 to have SWR destinations? If you're available?

So having amassed a great collection will you use it?
There are many items I have purchased over the years for it to sit unused on my computer - like most US Routes.

Yea of course. Buuuuuut the problem is that, when last night I tried to run on the missing link, the game kept crashing lol.

Unsure is it because I got too many things saved up on my laptop, i got like 3 other train simulator games saved on my laptop (train sim world, trainz and derail valley) and that kinda caused memory issues with Train Simulator Classic? That is just a guess from where the lag came from. Not only were there lag there is also as mentioned before, game crashing.

The games should be independent. I would be curious what was running in the background. Also do you have enough room for memory during game execution.

I don't know if the missing link has a Quick Drive - if it does do a run with just a default DTG loco and see if it crashes.
The problem might be with the route or the trains in the scenario that crashed.

Would need to see what is happening in the background to understand any lag. Each supporting DLC works fine on your setup?

No...because the amount of DISC SPACE a game takes up has nothing at all to do with memory used when running said game.
If you have enough RAM to run the base game then all additions to it should run. Do all your other routes run OK? Have you messed about with any memory settings in Windows?

442 destinations...have you been doing your homework and now understand how .bin, .Geo and .TgPcDx files work together?

I tried Brighton to south london route and the WCMLS route and they work fine.

As for any research on the .bin .geo and .tgpcdx stuff... i didnt do anything because its too over whelming and complicated for me how they work together.

Only a temporary consist at the moment.

currently in my scenarios its up to the missing link. Its a bit laggy when starting at Stafford and crewe but performance gets slightly better after crewe. Its also without any ai trains so.

Anyway another update to my wishlist.
honestly idk what route to get along side when getting the southern EMU stuff in the next turn?
something from ATS? Honestly any of the route that are marked as "Use as filler during purchase" with the upside down triangle that has (Base)along with maybe edinburgh to glasglow route?

    View attachment upload_2025-2-13_18-6-43.png

Idk why the image just doesnt want to work now. Wonder was it because its too big.

Don't get something because you think you might want it. Only get something if you think you'll use it, or if it's cheap enough to the extent that you're not losing out on anything. In the latest sale I was seriously considering getting Gotthardbahn, which was at its lowest ever price. I ended up getting the GWR County Class instead, because despite the discount not being as good I knew I'd use the County much more.

On another note, AP have released a decent Class 92 EP which you may want to add to your list.

Its really because a lot of the 3rd party routes requires a lot of different add-ons. Makes the routes I want to get and run really inaccessible. Kinda got no choice but to slowly gather them alongside the trains.

Why don't you have a choice? Have you not heard of LocoSwap?
The routes only require the Add-ons because the Authors of the Scenarios has put as much different stuff as he can find.

I have London to Peterborough which is the DTG route and if I get a current scenario it will require the Class 700.
But I don't have it and I would not have it given to me. Awful trains in real life and in the model.
So I change what I don't have to something I do have. The Class 365 that came with the route is much better.
And with freight services - it does not have to be a certain wagon - you could change it for something else.

In a Scenario the most important train is the one you are driving - the others are either sat in a siding or going past you.

I agree... and i just want to apologise for always seem to going down to the same points again that was mentioned before. I do feel bad.

I dont know why its only when I got into this I have urges to just want to buy more train things. And many routes I want to play on. So thats kinda how I always came back into where I start wanting more trains even though I can just loco swap.
Either way my next purchases would be 3rd rail stuff that is for sure.

Its because you can. With TSW you are stuck with static builds. With TSC you can do what you want. It becomes a collection and an obsession.

Yes, it is an addiction at first but you slow down your purchases after a while as you have purchased more routes assets than what you can use which I have a few that I have never tried. I probably have purchased more Steam TSC DLC than I have not.

just listing here for myself for the upcoming spring sale.
getting the 319 from ap too but doesnt count toward this round of purchase

prioritise getting the dover and ramsgate route and edinbrigh to glasglow route, class 460 plus 73, 455/8 with its vol. 2 pack from AP, and the electrostar pack also from AP.

If budget allows then try and get the SWR 455/7 or 313 AP pack or the north somerset route.

    right, this is very annoying-
AP isnt doing a sale now and there is already a sale on steam... i still haven't bought the class 319 AP pack from my last batch of purchases and I cant get the new gen electrostar EP, class 455 EP- basically it ruins a lot of the plans for my batch of purchases as i cant calculate which to get and what to drop, apart from holding off until a sale. Any advice? Have been struggling with this with 2 batches of buying now.

From past patterns, AP are likely to have a sale ar Easter.

My advice is to make do with what you've got until their next sale.

I have only bought one AP item at full price and then I regretted it, because it didn't give me the enjoyment I expected.

I have learnt to say no to impulses to buy AP stuff and my life has not become unhappy as a result.

If that is the case. Actually does steam have an Easter sale too in up coming April? If so then I might spend a little more money on this batch for purchase to fill up the add ons I need

No one except Steam knows exactly when their sales will be, but the industry is predicting the next full Steam sale to be June 26 - July 10, 2025 (Steam Summer Sale).

Armstrong Powerhouse often have an August bank holiday sale.
