okay soo... since AP hasnt done a sale now and suppose its going to have to wait until April. I just went ahead and this is my recent purchases from the spring sale!
Class 455s both Southern /8 and SWR /9, Class 465 (because AP needs it... unfortunately), North Somerset Railway (in preparation of meeting the requirement of Sussex Lines), London to Ramsgate and Dover route which great enough also includes a class 395!
    20250319010454_1.jpg
Bought the class 460 so I can quickly get Class 73s plus reskins from Vulcan Productions, and heres the line up of all the Gatwick Express stock I have!
    20250319011801_1.jpg
And Edinburgh to Glasglow route (to complete the ATS merge route from Preston to Glasglow). Which for some reason also includes the rest of the Class 170 add-on, which is just wow... and here is a line up of Scotland themed trains plus a Class 170 LM which was included in the Class 170 pack.
    20250319013226_1.jpg

total purchase cost was around 406 HKD so about 40 pounds for 7 items, if not 8 if including the rest of the class 170 pack. Wow.
And so next time its Class 319, New Gen electrostar pack and Class 455 AP VOL 2 from AP whenever the next time they do a sale. (Was hoping to also pick the Class 465 AP vol 2 pack but I think I be broken from buying too much lol). So yea quite the haulage today haha.
And i was too late to realise that I also wanted the class 73/9 however that pack from ATS need other requirements too... time for another grind.

Have you got that map yet? Or how to look at places in Google?

I am so confused once again.

speaking of updating the maps. Would be very nice to see other ATS lines updated on your TS map. I found the sutton mole valley line isnt added to your map before. Would be very useful to see those being added. (Also why did London to brighton route have show a section from brighton to seaford dispite that section hasnt been added yet on the sussex line?)

And something odd-ish to share last week i went to have a big round trip between brighton and london, purposely riding the 465 and 455 within a single day. Took the 455 from Waterloo to Dorking and then so on went back to Brighton via the West Coastway from Barnham. Bit of a shame that parts of the section between Waterloo and Dorking doesnt exist...

It was the NAME I was pointing out - the fact the city in Scotland is called GLASGOW and not GLASGLOW

    oh- no wonder then.

Anyway oddly enough is the 455/8 (SWR) and 455/9 suppose to be able to work together. Like the default model and all. Last night i tried combing the 2 trains but for some reason the short cut keys just dont move the controls and only the reverser.

Assuming you're talking about the original Thomson Interactive 455, they were released years apart and from my knowledge don't share any scripting. This will impact how they work when coupled.

oooooh- suppose that its until the AP pack that allows the different variants to be coupled up then.

The AP ones should all work together, although I haven't tested that. You may be able to set the motor coach and driving coaches on one of the units as broken engines by double clicking on them in the scenario editor, but I can't guarantee it'll work.

interesting, i might try that out or read the manual to see is that the case whenever I get my hands on it.

I am unsure have I asked this before specifically, thoughts on paying full price on a Just Train route? (+ specific 3rd party add-ons of which they rarely do sales?)

honestly its just very frustrating on part where a lot of workshop route requires the JT common library thingy which you can only get through JT's route specifically bought from their own site. I am aiming for their extension from Southampton to Sailsburys. But for the last 2 sales done by them its ever only done on their 2 TSW routes. Really the only bit I need to be able to run sussex lines IS the needed JT commons.

Actually another question also, how does the extension routes? (i.e the forementioned Southampton to Sailsbury and another such as the Moorgate extension on the ECML). How does it exactly work after having been loaded on to TSC? is it going to be a separate route or does it actually add on to the existing route that is extension? Example would the extension to Sailsbury, would that directly add that section to within the route?

It depends on the extension. The ATS Northampton Loop directly modified DTG's WCML South, but extensions made by DTG themselves are always separate routes.

Southampton to Salisbury I believe is the latter.

The Southampton to Salisbury route is by Just Trains and extends the DTG Southampton - Bournemouth route which is required to run it. It is not a standalone product.

i have another thing- I know Just Train have the midland mainline section covered between St Pancras and Bedford. But any thoughts on also picking up the DTG's version of midland mainline too? I am only getting because i heard the merge that danny did have a better version of hove. And probs can be pretty good once i get my hands on AP's 319s to run thameslink stuff.

    They don't.

Hove is available in South London to Brighton, which you don't need the DTG MML for.

Yea i know. But apparently there is a better version of Hove in Danny's South London and Thameslink. And believe it or not, Danny said this to me on ATS' facebook group lol. And that route requires the DTG's MML for the merge to work.

But no matter what yea i dont see the point of getting a add on just to get a better version. I mean that route is worth if I want to run thameslink without route hopping.

I have both Brighton Mainline and the MML but I have not bothered with merge as I don't think there are that many scenarios for it.
I do have Danny's South London to Brighton which is very good.

The MML is good as a stand alone route and you could run the AP 319 by swapping out the DTG version

The merge is not final, so nothing in the Workshop for it. I have found the odd ATS scenario on there, maybe. Otherwise you can play source route scenarios on it.

I do mean the South London Thameslink merge here. The Brighton one to the MML might be final. Not home to check.

I have a basket with £286 worth of stuff which will complete the whole AP catalogue to date, only taken 3 years! Aside from the £250 worth of stuff I bought in the last couple of months to complete the whole UK network as it stands in TS, I treat it like building a vast model railway and it's a lot cheaper than buying a couple of Hornby sets and track.

I have both a Digital railway and a OO Gauge UK Railway.

The digital one is cheaper but with the OO Models you have something physical that does not relay on a computer.
And I have models on my railway that are still not in the game.
    Like a 70, 71 and an 88.

Believe me Peter I would love to have some physical models but when a 66 is going to cost in excess of 200 quid the pc version makes sense. I do still have my stuff from the 70's when the hobby was a lot more affordable.

You've done it now, I only want them for display and weathering purposes as I don't have the room for a layout (Wish I could buy locos without the motors) PC wise if it stops working then the boss lady has deemed it an essential so it will be replaced, PLUS I have a flight sim and racing rig set up to keep me going (Out of her hair) if TS decides not to play :)
I think I maybe derailing this topic...

Completing the AP Catalog in 3 years?! Wow- do you usually have a set budget when you get something? Or do you get them little by little and not bought them in batch? At least I know how long is it going to take me to do it. (Mostly? Idk do i want to pick up bad modern trains irl tbh but thats just me). And goodness the image I shown isnt even the on sale price yet, my previous buying attempts included AP stuff but during that time AP didnt have sale on so it has been piling up until now. Fingers cross they do make a sale during easter because i really want the 319.

I was getting there, but some sound packs I still needed got removed and my rage started building, particularly when one got used for a model that I need. Now I have no idea how it will operate without the removed sound pack and they don't seem to be in a hurry to replace it with something else. I already said I still want to give them money for it, but not allowed apparently..

But yeah, I decided to buy too much when I had extra money once, so I was around three years and still buy occasional new bits once they hit sales. With no local currency options, the cost is absolutely horrid in some places. And that doesn't even count Russia. Forget it if you're there.

Not sure of percentage - hard to calculate. Here is a full listing of my DLC by source
    upload_2025-4-19_8-56-8.png

I shy away from Steam Locos and nowadays I also shy away from TSW although I have 75 TSW DLC purchased.

You don't need the JT Class 20; AP have released a remastered version of the RHTT wagons which can be bought separately. The JT Class 20 is also worse looking than the DTG one, if you want a Class 20 in TS.

I went for the JT RHTT pack because AP's RHTT have a.i upscaling or so I heard. I dont remember seeing a class 20 being sold on steam also. Ima go check that out.
