Hello, today i'm propsing this route as TSW is currently lacking Swiss InterCity routes and this one of the best options because it has varied gameplay and a lot of layering opportunites for owners of other DLCs. The route is 90 km long and has 27 stations. With services ranging from 10 minutes to over an hour and every type of service with regional, InterCity, highspeed and freight, it has something for everyone. It has layers for the TGV Duplex from LGV Méditeranné and the ICE 1 from Kassel - Würtzburg which together have 28 services (10 for the TGV and 18 for the ICE 1). As a lot of German freight traffic transit through Basel to go to the Gotthard and Lötschberg routes to Italy, owners of German freight rolling stock would have the opportunity to play on this route. For these reasons i think this is the best route to introduce Swiss InterCity trains to TSW. On the route there are also two notable tunnels: the Heitersbergtunnel which is 5 km long and the Hauenstein base tunnel which is 8 km long, if we remove this from scenery, the route is only 77 km which facilitates developpment. Route map Rolling stock The main train featured in this route would be the iconic Re 460. Coupled with the refurbished IC2000 coaches, it hauls both InterCity and InterRegio trains. Re 460 pulling an IC2000 trainset. The IC2000 coaches exists in 5 variants: - 2nd class - 1st class - Cab car - Restaurant car (used on IC services) - Bistro car (used on IR services) IC2000 cab car The route could also include the RABe 523 from Luzern - Sursee but i would prefer if it was a layer and include a Zürich S-Bahn train instead such as the RABe 511 or DPZ trainsets. RABe 511 DPZ Trainset (it can be pulled by either a Re 450 made specifcally for those trainsets or the Re 420 Lion) Services Here's a detailed list of all playable services: Re 460 / IC2000 cab car services IC3 | 53' Basel SBB - Zürich HB IC6 / IC61 | 29' Basel SBB - Olten (- Brig / Interlaken Ost) Both run every 2 hours, combining them makes it an hourly service IR16 | 9' (Bern -) Olten - Aarau (- Zürich HB) Deviates via Brugg AG and Baden IR27 | 32' Basel SBB - Liestal - Sissach - Gelterkinden - Olten (- Luzern) IR35 | 36' (Bern -) Olten - Zürich Altstetten - Zürich HB (- Chur) Sometimes operated by Südostbahn (SOB) IR36 | 12' (Basel SBB -) Dietikon - Zürich Altstetten - Zürich HB IR37 | 66' Basel SBB - Liestal - Sissach - Aarau - Lenzburg - Zürich HB ICE 1 services (Schnellfahrstrecke: Kassel - Würtzburg DLC) ICE 3 / 4 / 7x / 27x | 54' (Karlsruhe Hbf / Hamburg Hbf / Berlin Ostbahnhof -) Basel SBB - Zürich HB (- Chur) 6 daily services in both directions ICE 27x / 37x | 27' (Berlin Ostbahnhof / Hamburg Hbf -) Basel SBB – Liestal – Olten (- Interlaken Ost) 2-3 daily services in both directions TGV Duplex services (LGV Méditeranné DLC) TGV 92xx | 53' (Paris Gare de Lyon -) Basel SBB - Zürich HB 5 daily services in both directions DTG could also update LGV Méditeranné to add the TGV Lyria livery which is used on those services Services for the RABe 523 (Luzern - Sursee DLC unless included with the route) S1 | 8' Basel SBB - Muttenz - Pratteln (- Laufenburg / Frick) S3 | 39' (Porrentruy -) Basel SBB - Olten Stops at all stations S23 | 27' (Langenthal -) Olten - Othmarsingen (- Baden) Stops at all stations except 1 S26 | 20' Olten - Lenzburg (- Rotkreuz) Stops at all stations except 1 S29 | 13' (Sursee -) Olten - Rupperswil (- Turgi) Stops at all stations except 3 RE6 | 20' Olten - Lenzburg (- Arth-Goldau) Stops at all stations except 1 RE12 | 9' Olten - Aarau (- Wettingen) Zürich S-Bahn services (RABe 511 / DPZ) S6 | 3' (Baden -) Zürich Hardbrücke - Zürich HB S11 | 43' Aarau - Zürich HB (- Seuzach / Wila) Stops at all stations excpet 1 S12 | 21' (Brugg AG -) Killwangen-Spreitenbach - Zürich HB (- Schaffhausen / Winterthur) Stops at all stations RE37 | 29' Aarau - Lenzburg - Zürich HB Conclusion Zürich - Basel is one of the busiest railway corridor in Switzerland. With its varied gameplay and layering opportunities for owners of other DLCs, it's probably one of the best options to introduce the iconic Re 460 and Swiss InterCity traffic to TSW. Thank you for reading.
Much as I'd love this living in Zürich. SBB won't give out licences anymore so until that changes, no more Swiss routes, except for maybe some more RhB.
As stated above, waste of time posting as SBB will not license any more of their routes or train operations.
Unfortunately, that's the way it is with SBB, and there's probably nothing we can do about it at the moment. But there are many routes that are operated by BLS. And they are more likely to grant a licence to build a route.
