One of the most annoying things for me when using the livery designer is always trying to get the same livery on two similar pieces of rolling stock. For instance - creating a livery for a 9 car pendolino then having to start completely from scratch for an 11 car, or creating one for a Mk1 TSO and then having to start from scratch for another Mk1 variant. Tedious!

This suggestion would implement the ability to open two liveries side-by-side, mitigating the above issue by providing scope to copy layers across from one item to the other.

some time ago I had made a suggestion in decal thread that it would be nice if we could save certain complex shapes and such things which are time consuming to make and usually are done by merging several/many layers into one complex shape... that way we could use it on other liveries... also, a snap feature would be nice

and a complete copying feature as well... like from one version of the loco onto the other, since outside where livery is is usually the same

yeah, I feel you man, I have once done a livery for ICE1 and I dont remember for which route, only to find out there is 11, 12 and 14 car version, each in different route lol... also done like 3 liveries for BR 182, and then came 1116 lol :D
