Has anybody tried out the new AMD Fluid Motion Frames technology in TSW4? Especially with the latest preview driver. Is it working fine? Is the HUD not distorted/buggy? Any feedback is welcome.
Tried it and on most of the routes where the fps counter goes under 50-40 is really helpful. Only minor artifacts here and there, HUD is completely fine.
Yes FMF works like a charm in TSW as well as VSR3. I did want to make a topic on this a while ago, the problem is, that only the AMD software integrated graphs do show the FPS with generated frames. So it is not possible to make a video of it.
So here is one example of FMF at work on LFR (VSR is not active - playing on 3440x1440 with 130% screen resolution): You see the base FPS of the game at around a hundred, where FMF makes around 200 of it, so it doubles the FPS. This was made standing at a station. So here it is on the run: https://www.youtube.com/shorts/LgSQ6WDG22c Please keep in mind that besides the FPS is nearly double as high with FMF as it is natively and the game feels and runs a lot smoother that in CPU bound scenarios the FPS are still dropping. If this is interesting for other people I can share and show more of it on other routes and scenarios. Also a demonstration of VSR3 if anyone is interested in that stuff.
I am unable to use fmf because the game API is not supported, resulting in an error message stating that squares cannot be created. please help?
FMF requires a Radeon 7000 graphics card or better AND a Ryzen 7000 cpu or better to work. Did you check if your system has the required components?
This is what the official AMD page says: Probably didnt notice the limited compatibility with 6000 cards because Im on a cell phone atm, but the way they worded the Ryzen part made me think the Ryzen processsor was required. Sorry if it wasnt correct. Link: https://www.amd.com/en/products/software/adrenalin/afmf.html Going back to the question, maybe he has a 6000 card but has the game in borderless full screen?
Resurrecting an old thread instead of starting a new one. I’ve started using this today with my 6700xt and Ryzen 7 5700x and it’s made a huge difference to fps but I’m getting a slightly increased amount of stutter so wanted to see if anybody else is using this and if so to what configuration? I notice above that a previous post says that this doesn’t work on 5000 series CPUs but it seems to be working for me. I’m guessing AMD changed this in a driver update?
A previous post was incorrect, as noted in a previous post. I am using Auto, Auto, Blended. FMF won't stop the stuttering and TSW stutters. TSW stutters A LOT. TSW if famous for it's stuttering. Nothing stutters quite like TSW. If you only have a small amount of stutter you are doing great!
