With the release of the Rhien-Ruhr Osten route, there will be 2 routes in TSW that could connect, but do not. This isn't a thread about what is going on with that, and/or why/if there can't be extensions to the existing routes in the area. That's for a different part of the forums. This is a solution for if they can't connect, or at least for until they can; A menu screen that shows up on a service that continues onward in a different route DLC in the same region. To provide an example: If you run a service on Rhien-Ruhr Osten that intends to travel along Ruhr-Sieg Nord after Hagen, and its gets to Hagen where the player would normally have to relive the service to AI; if you own Ruhr-Sieg Nord you get a pop-up allowing you to load in that service at Hagen in the Ruhr-Sieg Nord dlc and continue its journey. OR If you arrive at NY Penn on a LIRR train and you own the NEC dlc; you can then go to an ACS-64 service, hop in the cab, get the pop-up menu, and have it load you into that service on NEC. In order for this to be a possibility it would need 2 things; 1. That the timetables on the routes align and are consistent. 2. That locos across the DLCs need to be properly layered in. (eg. ACS-64 and M7 finally being layered into LIRR and NEC)
