we need more content like expert db br 101 and less like thomas the tank engine ps: just my opinion, feel free to leave your thoughts
Yeah but they probably weren’t making enough money with steam hence why they abandoned it (for the moment). Thomas the tank might be a better deal which could generates way more benefits and it’s less time consuming as the steam physics is very simplistic. I won’t say no to more Expert DLCs but I’m curious to know how it is with the BR101, if it was profitable so more of this kind are expected to come.
I'm not a fan of Thomas. I'm not going to buy it because I have no personal attachment with it. That said, I can understand why people that grew watching the show will enjoy this DLC. After watching the preview, I think they did a good job with the models (based on some pics and videos of the show I found on google), the dialogs and the voices. Didn't see any terrible bugs, so in general it is a well executed DLC. Wish all DLCs were executed this good to be honest. Don't worry. We will get more of the "standard" and "expert" DLCs. Also, I don't think this DLC with the simplified driving model and cartoony train models took them too much time to develop compared to the "standard" DLCs. We will still get the same amount of "standard" DLCs we get each year, probably more considering there are more 3rd parties now. Seriously, nothing to be worried about.
I don’t pay much attention to Roadmaps as I play rarely because of the various issues so I haven’t see that but I’m very pleased it went well. Thanks for the info.
Quite unlikely, since the people working on the BR 420 and the ones that built the BR 101 Expert are two entirely different teams. It's not officially on the roadmap (yet), but Lukas confirmed it over on the TSC Discord.
I’m not particularly fussed about further “expert” locos but I do get the vibe Thomas has been a massive distraction and diverted resources within DTG that has led to declining quality elsewhere. Whether the unfixed core issues, poor quality control particularly the Cardiff route has all been set aside to service the deal with Mattel. It has also been a massive kick in the teeth for those of us wanting more steam traction in the game, or the existing steam sorting to put on a level with TSC. And while DTG are corporately gibbering over Thomas, we have seen nothing to indicate they are planning to do something like Locomotion for the Stockton and Darlington 200th anniversary.
That's because it appears to be using the actual models from the CGI series (well, forThomas, Annie and Clarabel and the other faces anyway), and the actual voice actors. Shame Michael Angelis isn't around any more would've been great to hear him in this.
