Just a few suggestions for TSW5, especially for PS4... you should polish up some of the background graphics a bit. Push out the draw out distances so scenery don't just "pop up" right in front of me. Backgrounds like mountains and stuff seem to "pop in", sometimes... also work on some of the lighting and shadowing a bit. And make level crossings more life like. They seem pretty bland and non imersive. Maybe draw the road across the tracks instead of just some slabs with crossbucks tomake them look more realistic. Also, the background car traffic could use a COMPLETE overhaul. I understand consoles, especially older PS4s are only capable of so much, but I think y'all could push just a little bit more out of it. And I'm willing to lose a few fps for better graphics, as long as it ain't excessive. Awesome game overall, just needs some polishing up a bit.
Are you trolling? New member, first post, contentious subject matter….looks like it to me. The general consensus is that Gen8 consoles will not be supported by the TSW franchise much longer. If you are being genuine then it’s time to get a new console.
There’s no point in being over dramatic everyone knows that the days of tsw releases for gen 8 are numbered even dtg ambassadors themselves say same thing and clearly that photo has occurred due to something going wrong with the console but yea it’s exactly a good illustration of the need to shelve gen 8
Here we go again! The kill gen 8 brigade are back. Why not let hardware just die a natural death without hammering premature nails in its coffin. I have an older PC which i occasionally use for TSC/TSW and it won't work for them much longer. No-one is telling me to junk it now though. Or is one of you going to bring up the old, entirely false notion that gen 8 is holding the game back. Oh and did anyone notice that DTG made a point of making the entire timetable, layers and stock of the upoiming Dutch route available for gen 8 consoles? Doesn't look like they're dropping support anytime soon.
Not part of the “kill gen 8” crew trust me, but the first gen 9 only route coming soon does suggest that they are dropping support.
Fine, if they eventually drop support then so be it. It just irks me that there is a cadre in the forum that campaigns to deprive a sizable number of players of the right to play their favorite game right now. In any case even if DTG decide not to support gen 8 at some point, there's nothing to prevent those players from continuing to enjoy the game. DTG doesn't officially support laptops, but plenty of people use them to play TSC/TSW
Gen 8 consoles died a natural death about 5 or so years ago. I think you’re misunderstanding the point anyway. Gen 8 players will always be able to play their favourite game, right up to the point they can’t purchase the new version of it. Personally I hope that comes with TSW6. To re-iterate though, TSW5 and earlier versions of the game will always be available to those that wish to play them. However, no one has a right to keep the same hardware for well over a decade and expect new games to work on it. Or are you expecting Rockstar to release GTA VI on Gen8 as well?
Mg point is why is it such a thing with you guys? Why do you want gen 8 to lose support and why do you wish it so much? What's it to you? How many ways can I say it? Just let it be and let those many gen 8 players play as long as they care to. And drop your campaign. It's mean spirited and totally unnecessary.
I personally think the Gen8 consoles might have died alot sooner, in fact with TSW4. It was just with huge price inflation a few years back and the initial cost of Gen9 consoles that probably made DTG hesitate and let prices of hardware drop slightly and become more accessible to people before considering writing them off. I think the fact they still cater for them is commendable, but owners of Gen8 consoles need to accept their hardware is becoming expired and obsolete and will not be able to cope with future content or any movement towards TSW moving to another software engine. As you have said and many others including myself, I think Gen8 has come to its natural end of life, in fact I think it's probably been given a few years extra life compared to its predecessors.
but no one here is saying that you or anyone who owns a ps4/xbox one should throw the console in the trash, in fact that's not even the point here the point is: 8th gen consoles are no longer a match for tsw nor its routes and timetables you want a 12 year old console to last forever running games like it did 12 years ago
No one wishes it to be unsupported, but it eventually will and people need to accept that. Gen8 has been around for about ten years, for a console that's pretty old. Surely it ain't sustainable to build software for ancient hardware? No one wishes for its demise, no one wants those on gen8 to lose out. But it will happen in the not so far future.
As soon as I found out Gen9 had more layers than I had before on my xbone one x, at that point the most powerful xbone available, I was giving it a boot in the arse and getting me a xbone series X, as I don't do diet consoles. I want the maximum power and full capacity of my gaming weapon of choice, and that was 3 maybe 4 years ago at this point.....
That's the whole point; people who don't use gen 8 systems are campaigning for DTG to drop gen 8 systems, despite no benefit to them. Obviously, gen 8 will become obsolete eventually. Not yet, though. Metacritic lists over 80 PS4 games releasing between now and end of September. If it weren't profitable to keep building and supporting TSW for gen 8, DTG wouldn't be doing it. (Nor would anyone else.) They are, so it is. Therefore, if people are so desperate for a system they don't use to be dropped, they're going to have to remove that profit by convincing gen 8 users to upgrade, because it's silly to try to convince DTG not to chase money that's still there. I suggest they put their money where their mouth is and start and contribute to a GoFundMe to buy everyone still lagging a gen 9 system. Then gen 8 revenue will dry up, and DTG will drop those builds finally.
