Worst dlc dtg have ever done 29.99 for a bunch of train characters and some random story's pile of rubbish really they should've targeted the right audience not the wrong one this should of been something for their babyish roblox game not train sim world dtg really hit a new low with this dlc for sure

I think DTG were just trying to Experiment with this DLC and maybe didnt realise it would have such a bad reaction from most players on here.

I think where DTG messed up with this DLC was by making it a “Huge reveal” which got everybody hyped up for almost a whole month expecting something totally different like that one route they have always dreamed of seeing and got Thomas instead xD. I think if DTG had announced Thomas in a Normal Roadmap say a few months later that it would have had a much better reaction from everyone. People are still bitter about the big reveal being Thomas back in December lol. You were all told not to keep expectations too high but most of you did it anyway and of course got disappointed.

I just have to disagree completely with the OP of this raggedy thread and the subsequent posts.

In my (not so humble) opinion, he only glitch in this DLC lies in the throttle control which is not (as it is in every other DLC with which I am familiar) sticky, meaning that if nor continually pressed in the forward or reverse direction it gradually changes toward the unwanted direction. This, at most, is a minor distraction, however.

This route is -- obviously -- aimed at fans of Mattel's Thomas and Friends franchise. It includes a number of entertaining activities and free roam possibilities are also included. Those who cannot play along with the concept should just stay away from it and let the rest of us enjoy it.

 

It was never going to appeal to everyone. Its quite obvious it was targeted at a specific audience. That audience being kids and nostalgic adults for the most part.

So it ain't your cup of tea. Big deal. There are many DLCs I could say were a waste of time because they don't appeal to me. I'd much rather a focus on UK stuff as that interests me, but hey, we still get other countries.

It clearly has done some good, a lot of people seem to be enjoying it. A couple of people have kids who also like it.

I expect the bucket load of cash DTG receive in sales for the Thomas addon will probably mean they can safely disregard your nonsense opinion.

I won’t pipe down though, many of us were disappointed that Thomas was the big finale of the season of reveal but there’s still a lot of people interested in this kind of content and frankly DTG is here to make business so they won’t say no to that.

Anyway get over it you’ll be alright.

 

I’ve got no interest in this dlc, but I can give them props for it seemingly being well put together, a few minor gripes of course but it didn’t turn out bad like I thought

 

I’m also not interested. I love Thomas , but the books were my era and I didn’t really like the TV series. So I’m not the target audience.

Have to admit though, I don’t hate it. I’ve watched a few streams where people are just having fun with it and it looks very well done. If it brings a younger audience into train sims then I have no problem with it.

I don’t buy all the DLC anymore so this is just one I’ll pass on.

 

Same here, no real interest (without the Isle Of Sodor) and I do worry it has been a large distraction for DTG from their core business.

However... that said, it is apparent people are enjoying it and it seems a bit of harmless almost sweet fun for those with affection for the little blue thing. And I know it's a cliche, but hopefully the revenue stream can be ploughed back into DTG's wider TSW business including (maybe) a revival of real steam content and era routes for those of us who want to see more.

So you expected it to be bad and you bought it anyway? Or didn't you buy it, and you're just whining about it from the outside?

If you did buy it, what exactly didn't you like about it? The lack of other characters? The inability to couple Thomas to stock from other addons?

Or are you just complaining purely for the fact that it exists with no care for how good or bad it actually is?

For the record, I don't ask these questions with some agenda to defend the addon. I don't own it, nor do I plan to. If I have an agenda, it's against people making criticisms that have no basis, no structured point, and which ultimately can directly translate to "I don't like this so it's bad". This offers nothing of any substance, it does nothing to change or improve anyone's situation, and it is ultimately wasted energy. Couple that with seeming to just go out and insult people who respond to you and all you end up doing is making yourself appear to be a petulant child who no one, especially not DTG, will ever take seriously.

In the end if you don't like the addon, don't buy it. And I don't say that in terms of bugs or anything, issues which actually do warrant the attention of those who have been wronged by the poor condition. But if you don't like Thomas content the same way you might not like American commuter content for example, meaning you don't like it simply for being what it is, then just don't buy it and let the overall purchase numbers speak for themselves. That is the only way you can influence DTG's corporate decisions.

 

Exactly. If you didn’t purchase it then you have no right to complain and spoil it for other players. Criticism should be constructive or not at all.

Its funny that I'm seeing way more compliments than complaints on these forums for Thomas.

In fact less complaints than I 've seen for Cardiff. And just as many compliments JT and TSG have gotten.

So I don't know what world the OP is living in. But yet another person who claims to be the majority with no proof and speaks for us all.

It seems to me someone who didn't want this in the 1st place and has overblown the situation. And obviously its turning out opposite to what the OP thought and becoming a success.

So just a sore loser looking for attention grasping at straws.

Exactly my point. If you have a valid criticism or specific feature of the addon then share that, for example the fact that Thomas can't couple with other content, or that he is modelled on the CGI version rather than the more fitting/realistic model series or books. If you don't like it simply because it's Thomas, akin to not liking American passenger routes simply because they're American passenger routes, then just don't buy it and ignore that it exists, it literally doesn't have to mean anything to you. "I don't like it so it's bad" is perhaps singlehandedly the most invalid and petty criticism anyone could possibly give.

I count myself among them. I don't think that Thomas, particularly CGI Thomas, should be in TSW. I said as much only once in the aftermath of its reveal at Christmas, and then I went about my life as if it never even happened, because if I have no intention to buy the addon or invest in its future, then it shouldn't, doesn't, and will not mean anything to me.

Thomas is just one DLC, for children, and it doesn’t break TSW. Don’t like it then ignore it and move on with your day.
