    Hey folks!

On Monday 24th March, we'll be previewing our first ever Netherlands route; Zwolle - Groningen. Please ask your questions here and we'll do our best to answer them on stream or on this post soon after!

Please stay on the topic of Zwolle - Groningen and the included content, and use the coming soon article for any discussions, so that we're able to keep track of both the questions and feedback separately.

Can we enter the compartment where the doorloopkop used to be on the ICMm?

Is the destination display control near the bottom of the cab stairs usable on the ICMm?

Can we make 4-car versions of the ICMm and SNG in formation designer?

Is the Van Hallbrug bridge in Groningen in the playable area, and will it open and close?

What is the rationale for charging more than the standard price for this route? I'm sure you realize that you're crossing the $50 " red line " for US customers, who have to add sales tax.

( Official DTG answers only, please. )

I'm sure you'll miss the 2nd middle car for that.

Will this route feature the railecho/railsinging similar to mildmay line? An important feature which, in my opinion, should be implemented in a more expensive route like this.

Will the Vectron get the ATB update on release or at a later patch?

In the preview stream, can Matt please take his time setting up the cab (turning on the safety devices, headlights-taillights, trainlights, gauge lights,....) and do it with the correct switches in-cab instead of using keyboard shortcuts, so console users can see where the switches are located.

    -Is there neutral section simulation?
-Are the sound sets for both train authentic?

No, DC doesn't use neutral sections.

Is there any possibility to fix the PIS system on the ICMm? Currently it displays stations like this:

    Rotterdam Centraal

which leads to it barely fitting the screen. In real life it is displayed like

    Rotterdam
    Centraal

which would be awesome to see in the game as well! I understand the PIS is connected to the platform PIS system so this might be hard to achieve, but I would love to see it!

Also, are there any services in the timetable where you have to couple up or split trains at Zwolle? This happens in real life sometimes where a train consisting of multiple sets leaves one behind or takes an additional set on

What did the devs enjoy about putting together this route, besides it being a new country?

Ex: was there an area that was fun to model, etc etc.

It was talked about how NS had quite a big role in the releasing of this route. What exactly did they do to make this route even better than without their help?

Though not in this section of track, there are "dead zones" where there is no power which require the driver to move the throttle to off. These are on smaller movable bridges where RailPro has chosen to not string catenary wire across them.

How many services does the G6 have, does this include any mainline runs or just yard movements?

Will the Wuppertal route be required for it to display or can the loco be purchased by itself for this route?

    Many thanks

The article listed all required dlcs for the route and Wuppertal is needed for the G6. Everytime the G6 layers onto something you need to have the Wuppertal route for it. No Wuppertal, no G6. Same for the Falns an Ruhr Sieg Nord.

Was this route and the trainsets built in house or outsourced to a second party?

Can we be assured that unlike the dreadful Cardiff route, this project has been given sufficient testing and QA to ensure a quality product prior to release?

How were the train sounds sourced. At least one person has commented the horn resembles the Electrostar so can we have an assurance the sounds are from the prototypes and not aliased to existing UK or German EMU's in the game?

Once again why are we not getting a pre-release purchase discount? As a new region in TSW surely you should be offering some incentive to increase the footfall for the product. £33 is starting to approach the red line for a DLC and is the price that many complete AAA games sell for.

Have to refer to previous requests for information on progress to provide more Save game slots as the amount of DLC increases rapidly. And ditto another route where players might wish to return to free roam and take over another service, but pointless unless we know the save/load process won't lose the objective data.

How robust is the licensing agreement with NS?

Nothing on the roadmap I know, but are we likely to see further Dutch routes, something taking in Rotterdam, Amsterdam or even a retro route out to Hoek Van Holland to feature the International trains that used to operate there?

What in DTG's view is the iconic LAMPOIL feature to persuade customers to part with £33 for this route?

How is the collaboration with NS, and how likely is it DTG and NS will collaborate in the future?

Can you sound the horn on both trains, as the trailer video only showed one tone of what should be a two-tone horn for the ICMm?

Do you expect this route to be popular with non-Dutch players, or are you mainly aiming at Dutch customers?

What year is the route surveyed/set in

are both staging areas south of Zwolle and Groningen included?

was the little shuttle line from Zwolle to Kampen considered to be modeled but cut?

According to ns.nl travel planner, Zwolle - Kampen isn't operated by NS. It'd need a whole new train and another license.

This line is operated by Keolis/Blauwnet with Stadler FLIRTS.
Populating Zwolle (Blauwnet) and Groningen (Arriva) with these trains would make some great scenery and would really make it truer to life. But it would probably take a lot of work modelling these trains (all Stadler, by the way).

How will the conductor mode be like? (Since the article said we'll get it on both trains, and you probably already know, NS is reliant on conductors, since most older stock like the icmm, nid-ddz, virm don't have a lock/close doors switch/button in the cab). Will we be able to control the gsm-r and the pis control (in the trains ofcourse).
Will there be the NS ding dong station announcment bell with an announcement? Will we be able to whistle on conductor mode? (Like the conductors irl). Will there be bikes storaged in the trains (like at the front of the icmm near the cab, where there is a bike storage). Will we be able to check in and out with our ticket (basically tapping our travel card/ov chipkaart) will the train station gates at some station work? Will we be able to go outside the station's to see the beautiful Groningen station building, or the big dog statue at Assen? Or The parking lot at Hoogeveen? Possibly Zwolle too? Will we get a custom NS logo for creator's club? (NS was like you said cooperative and not strict if i'm not mistaken). Was the Icmm horn sound used from the electrostar units or other uk trains? (Cause i'm dutch, and I know how my trains horn sound + when comparing the two horns of the icmm in the trailer to the irl, there was a big difference). Also, i noticed that the railway crossing (spoorwegovergang in dutch) was sounding a bit different (it was accurate, but it was slower and had this artificial sound to it and not to forget, the lights of the crossing was incorrect, it should be faster and doesn't have this fade animation irl). Another thing i noticed was that the sng has a very dim PIS destination board, I had to zoom in to see it.
Also 2 things to top it off, the screenshots look very real, I couldn't almost tell the difference to real life in some pictures (only if it didn't have the tsw logo to spoil itself).
And 2, here is the pis control system in the icmm beneath the cab. Screenshot_20250317_232622.jpg

How will this DLC work on consoles? Will console owners be charged full price, with blurry textures and frequent crashes?

Plus, the licenses for all involved with this. What we could probably ask for is the train sets without branding, then the community could finish them off for pc users, sorry console users.

Vectron db br193 (from frankfurt-fulda, you need to own it) and the DB G6 from wuppertal rhein ruhr osten. And there will be a total of 339 playable services as they said in the coming soon article..

You could re-use the Stadler FLIRT that is in game for some of them :) or isn't that in livery designer like the rest of the Rivet trains?

Matt said in a roadmap stream that NS were really cooperative as licensor. This should increase the chance of more Dutch stuff. More so as other licensors have stopped their support in the past.

That, combigned with the fact that DTG have now worked out NS signaling and safety systems, and have asset libraries for signage, trackside fittings, station elements and so on, which provide a solid basis for more Dutch content. (Compare the relative rush of Austrian and part-Austrian content in the past year and a half since Vorarlberg)

Query: with the NS license, is it possible in future to get NS-branded ICE 3Ms? These share duties with the DB trains on the Aachen-Brussels-Amsterdam run

Most interesting, are these NS branded ICE 3Ms still painted in the white with red strip only with NS instead of DB on the side. I have been watching the Rail Pro stream from Amsterdam Centraal and have only seen ICEs with the red strip on white.

What proportion of services are ‘real’ runs and not silly ECS moves (or equivalent) of 2/3 minutes which Cardiff had a notoriously high number of - 20% iirc

Yeah, only difference is the NS logo instead of the DB Logo, also the "BordBistro" is just called "Bistro" and the letters are blue instead of red. No other difference.
In fact, there is only one NS ICE left which is supposed to get out of service next month (together with all the other 406).
Frankfurt - Cologne - Amsterdam/Brussels is ICE 3neo / BR408 only since a few months, and the NS does not have any 408, they are all owned by DB.

Are there plans for a DDZ loco add-on to the Zwolle - Groningen route? Considering the DDZ is common on the Zwolle - Groningen route and have the same services as the ICMm.

Why is the preview stream the day before release on this one? Also can we be assured that this route doesn't suffer from memory leaks on consoles before we invest in a DLC which is more expensive then the others?

Why is there a sudden rush of new releases? How can punters be sure that quality isn’t being impacted by such an accelerated release schedule?
Using Cardiff as an example….some parts are sublime…some are a dogs dinner!

Yup, even the H-beam portals have one too many Y-profile:

In reality, the H-beam portals only have one Y-profile in the middle, which holds one rod that stabilises one of the overhead wires, while the other wire is stabilised by a rod that's mounted directly to one of the portal's legs:

The same is true for the framework portals:

Both these images were taken from Groningen - Zwolle, to be precise from this cab ride videofrom last month.

Will there be a manual for the route? I know there is an article on the website describing safety systems, but it's not the same as having a pdf. In my opinion old routes manuals are very handy; you have all you need regarding signaling and safety in one document in a very concise manner

Very important question; During the stream, could you please say as many Dutch words and city names as possible, so we can either have a good laugh or be amazed at the pronounciation?
