I understand Liam's response to mean that the existing 2016 timetable will not change. I believe the question was whether the new 2017 timetable will have more achievable timings or whether they will be copied over from the 2016 timetable. I also believe that this question hasn't been answered yet.

Have I misunderstood? We've been asking the same questions repeatedly over the past 7 months and I'm struggling to keep up with what's new and what's already been answered - there's so much going into this remaster!

To confirm the original timetable won't be getting any changes as all GWE work is in my free time instead of 'official' work. But to answer for the new timetable, all timings are directly taken from GWR driver diagrams and their working timetable, so in theory all timings should be achievable if the Class 166 physics are accurate.

I think I can safely say this is going to be the release of the year when it comes to UK content. I've been most excited about this release since it was announced. If WSR and Cathcart are just even a little taster of the quality and love we know these remasters get, then this is going to be absolutely amazing if commuter railways are your thing...

What I also love, is there's none of this insincere 'hype', other routes get it just updated with facts and honesty. Yet, the pictures alone hype themselves up naturally without any input needed... Always a good indication of a good route. Super excited for this, probably going to be up there as one of my all time favourites, I can see it already!

Really looking forward to this one. It's great to see the enthusiasm. GWE was the first TSW route I ever played, back when I played on Xbox so it holds a special place in my heart. I would say playing this route helped me rediscover my spark and love for the railways overall, and led to my passion outside the game as well. From what I've seen of the rework so far, this is going to be like jumping into a brand new route and I can't wait. :D

DTG Liam will there be a livestream for the remaster, when the time comes, where you could take us through your changes as we go along the route?

I'm a bit late to the party, I know. Hope I haven't missed too much but this route looks fab! If it's anything like the treatment wsr got it'll be a real gem! :)

Any word on when we might be getting this? No pressure at all, we all want a quality product and not the rushed stuff that is becoming far too common from DTG.

Remember it’s a spare time project, so Liam likely isn’t working on it consistently and there might be periods where he does a lot and periods where nothing changes for a while.

It’s done when it’s done, and even Liam may not have a target date (as that creates unwanted stress for something that should be interesting and fun!).

To confirm there is no date yet but I have a rough idea on when I'd like to have it out. Just don't expect a release in the next month or 2.

Thank you for the continued updates, Liam.

Take as much time as you need for this remaster. I’m sure it’ll be stunning upon release.

Liam is obviously not quite finished yet. Although I'd love to see this remaster right now, I am happy to wait for a remaster of epic proportions. My only wish is that we get a couple more screenshots in the April roadmap to tease us all. I am impressed with everything so far seen. Looks like a completely new route. Thanks DTG Liam.

Unfortunately it's still on the 3+ months category of the roadmap so we can't expect anything soon. :(

Unless new stuff is added, the April roadmap is going to look very very bare given the quick fire release this month of lots of new content.

Personally, I’d rather it take as long as it needs to. Wouldn’t mind some new screenshots on a roadmap though to wet the whistle though! :)

Any pictures you could share DTG Liam would be great.

if possible a hst crossing Maidenhead viaduct would be cool.

There's this pic from a previous roadmap although the panel has been slightly improved since this.
While not a HST I'll repost this one too and see what I can do for future pics.

GWE will always have a special place in my heart for being my first experience in TSW. Looks like Liam has done a fantastic job on it and I can't wait to see it in action :)

Is that an EMT 158 layering on somewhere or an April teaser of some sort?

    Intrigued!

I was initially hoping it was an SWT class 158 but unfortunately the subtle differences between the two liveries confirm it's EMT.

IIRC, SEHS has had EMT HSTs layered in at St Pancras for some time. So EMT being added to GWE would be no surprise

But EMT didn't operate anywhere near the GWML. I don't think SWT sent sprinters that way either.

A small teaser for one of the layers.
I'm using it in place for the SWT 158 and 159 services at Reading.

You're right but since layers can't run for just one day I thought it's best to add it anyway and let players decide if it's enabled.

I'm all for the layers so they'll be staying on! Nice edition to the route. Reading will be hive of activity compared to how it was.

Yeah you're correct, EMT didn't operate on GWML metals.... But there was a set that was transferred to GWR in the old Midland Mainline colours, I can't recall if that was in the days of Midland Mainline or early into EMT era.

Being a Leicester lad I was on an all line rover and one of the trips was from Paddington to Bristol, I was looking forward to travelling on GWR stock....so imagine my dismay to see the MML set turn up on my service lol

Will the EMT 158 be reskinned for SWT use on GWE like with the 710s on Mildmay Line?

DTG Liam will this be sorted for the remaster (this is the front of Hayes and harlington) considering the road not being level with the station as in reality they are both on the same level

    Soooo,

Now we'll just need to fill the gap between Reading and Cardiff, seeing as we have both stations in TSW5. :D

The whole area around here has been pretty much rebuilt. As for the road specifically it has been set to as level as it can but it's not perfect due to the station model.

Just a bit of a gap XD Route hop points to Cardiff have been added at Paddington to make up for the missing section.

    Hi DTG Liam

What is the current update on the GWE remaster?

Could there be any chance in the near future of extending the route to the Didcot parkway or Even adding the Elizabeth line from Reading to Abbey Wood?:)

It's been stated a few times that there are no plans to extend the route or the electrification beyond what is already there. This is Liam's spare time project to bring the GWE up to modern TSW standards and make it really immersive.

DTG Liam could you put a route hop for penzance (west Cornwall local) at Paddington for the missing section as well?
