So, I didn't really had an idea about how to start this thread but I think I will go just as this, in the last monthss I started making italian infrastructure assets, starting from OHLE and buffers, this with the idea of starting a route once I had made from scratch all the required assets. As for the route, the idea was something in the Lombardy area (literally Milan), as that would be easier for me to collect images and stuff, and it also is one of the regions with the most variety of "experiences" and rolling stock available. the ideas for the route weren't much, I am still in the process of choosing if I actually would want to touch Milan as first experience, well, seeing it everyday makes it quite ""easier"" but still quite complex and I was in between of choosing as a route the Milano - Treviglio - Bergamo that would include pretty much all of the node (north part of it) from Certosa (Milano Fiorenza maybe as well), this because out of the 2 tph per direction from Bergamo to Milan only 1 goes to C.le and the other stops Milano Garibaldi and go via Villapizzone and half of the trains that stop at Treviglio start in Milano Greco, so the node ain't much avoidable. other option was something toward south like Piacenza/Cremona or Northwest (Gallarate). but let's talk of what is is actually there and is being made. assets wisely that is what i made so far. for the OHLE currently are only missing the tensioner for the wire (M pole types) and the portals (both, with tensioner and without). the buffer is the standard variants, there could be made more according to the route I would make. infra wise are still missing signals and signal bridges, signage, tracks, lineside stuff and switches. talking of trains. so far I started making the model of the only Italian locomotive used on commuter rail (used also on InterCity Services) the E.464 but is it on a very early stage. that would definitely be the default stock for the route with pax coaches which yet i have to decide, according if i make a route and where, although i have a bare model of vivalto coaches (both gen) that could be good to go if i finish it. I also have another locomotive the E.652, a Bo'Bo'Bo' freight loco (or pax if pre 2010 and modified to the shape of 632) that could go with other freight wagons (Rgs and FS' Eanos if I would choose to make the Bergamo-Milano, or anything else if I choose another area) please note, everything shown in here is work in progress, some stuff more than other, and I don't want to actually promise anything as I can't assure that everything will reach and end. p.s. regarding OHLE i am trying to implement it in all the possible way with also the idea of writing a guide about custom catenary assets for who want to make custom gantries (as myself would have liked to have something like this available).
Hi, nice to see another Italian developer! If you need the signals I've just managed it, for the other assets I've managed only what I need for my route, so it's nice you still create a full pack for everyone! I'm working in this way only for the signals...
hi! regarding signals i am planning to make everything from scratch, especially if I manage to get something done well and would want to share it via DTG (for access to console players), and will also be "interesting" as my main idea would be about including Milan, which has "every possible type of stuff" like short block signals with double yellow but that would need to be seen in future, regarding making assets public, these would be made such if I don't make a route, if I make a route these could be get from the route anyways. (the guide is gonna be made once i get to figure out more how it works). but will be a fun thing to do!
Hello all, here are some pictures of the catenary portals used in here, compared to some other countries in TSW, instead of a wired solution, here we pretty much only use "solid" solutions which are also quite different each other, especially for the portals used for isolating sections of catenary as a switch, note, i have not modelled all the stuff related to the switch. here are the pictures!
Not much to add, I started making tracks, ideally tracks should be fully custom* the idea is making the FS (RFI) 180-230 NV and 240 NV sleepers for the route I plan to make (bets are open to guess the route, hint: Lombardy), the idea is to make in future the HS ones, (which aren't even possible to make accurately). so far this is the work of the tracks that I have done along with some more stuff with OHLE and so on! *some parts of the tracks are still from DTG's assets, once everything is done, these would become 100% custom, same for ballast texture if i manage to get high-res, trash and weeds free pictures. **track uv is too stretched as i needed to fix dimensions, gonna get fixed tho.
thank you! yesterday night i managed to get all the custom parts to be done, now i only got to get better models and texture to get nicer assets + i need to try to collect ballast pictures.
Late night rolling stock modelling (still wip) more progress soontm with finished details and livery.
Looks so good! Keep going (and write DTG to become a 3rd party, once your models and routes are progressing )
yup, that's the plan, getting all the 3D stuff done, except the specific one, getting a demo station done, layed with OSM data given I don't have access to Google api currently to learn scenery and track laying, once I can access the API i can start to lay actual route
Finally! I've been waiting for my land for a long time!! I would like to give some advice or maybe something to add. First of all make the parts of the tracks that divide So rail joint. Then add the pantograph of the trains which when lowered make the typical noise, like that of the e464, e652, taf.will exceed Then act as train conductor on regional and high speed
hello, what do you mean? joints models are required when making a track loft asset, so definitely are already there, even thought there isn't much an extensive use nowadays since jointed rails have been replaced pretty much by continuous rail except in points for thermal reasons and track circuit reasons. regarding audio, the quality of the audios in the project will depend also on the equipment I may get and eventual (authorized) access to real stock (which is highly unlike, just like there is a huge possibility that branding won't be possible). talking of conductor mode, it may only be there for commuter, I am not touching high speed at all, not even sure why you need to make a point about this stuff thought.
Very impressioning work! I'm excited to see my country in tsw. The only asset you should get the permission to manipulate (and it should be easy because is considered the worst locomotive in all tsw) is the skyhook games br 187. Once you change its voltage requirements to 3 kv DC and 1.5 kv DC, translate the writings to Italian, remove german safety systems and repaint it in the "zincata" livrery, you have a fs e 494.
Hello, Freight Is not in the plans for my first router, that said, I would not edit Skyhook's 187 tò being It to italian standards for various reasons, first of these, It Is a work of skyhook. If I had to make the TRAXX DC3 i would make them from scratch, but they still, are not in my interests.
