The East London Line NEEDS to come to TSW5!

This route would be a perfect addition to the game. The East London Line is one of the most interesting parts of the London Overground, with a great mix of underground and overground running, busy junctions, stunning scenery, and fast-paced commuter action.

Picture starting a service at Highbury & Islington, heading through the tunnels to Whitechapel, then emerging onto the elevated sections towards South London. There’s so much variety—tight curves, steep gradients, quick bursts of speed, and rapid stop-start services. And driving through the historic Thames Tunnel? That alone would make this route worth it. The mix of modern and historic stations, from the sleek glass architecture of Canada Water to the deep-level platforms at Wapping and Rotherhithe, would make for an amazing visual experience.

Then there’s the Class 378 Capitalstar, which would be incredible to drive. With open gangways, quick acceleration, and high-frequency running, it’s completely different from something like a 377 or 700. The East London Line is a proper metro-style service, where you’re constantly on the move, keeping up with tight schedules and dealing with AI traffic at key junctions.

It’s not just a simple point-to-point run either. The East London Line has four branches—West Croydon, Crystal Palace, Clapham Junction, and New Cross—so there’s loads of variety in where services start and end. Plus, sharing tracks with Southern south of New Cross Gate would add another layer of realism, with AI Class 377s running alongside. The timetable potential here is huge, with high-frequency services making the route feel alive, especially during peak hours.

The London Overground is long overdue in TSW, and this route is one of its busiest and most interesting. It would bring something fresh to the game—modern London commuter action with a mix of old and new infrastructure. This needs to happen!

Why DTG should consider this route come to TSW5
DTG should consider The East London Line because it would be a perfect fit for TSW5 and honestly feels like it should have been in the game by now. It’s one of the busiest and most unique parts of the London Overground, offering a mix of underground and overground running, high-frequency metro-style services, and constant interactions with other trains. Unlike traditional commuter routes, this isn’t just a point A to B run—you’ve got multiple branches, busy junctions, and tight timetables that would make every journey feel dynamic and engaging.

The Class 378 is built for this kind of operation, with its rapid acceleration, open gangways, and high-capacity design. It would bring a completely different driving experience to TSW, making it a must-have for anyone who enjoys fast-paced urban operations. Pair that with a timetable packed with AI Southern and Southeastern services, and you’ve got one of the most immersive and lively networks in the game.

What makes the East London Line stand out is how much variety it offers in such a compact space. One minute, you’re navigating deep-level tunnels, the next, you’re running across viaducts with stunning city views. The Thames Tunnel alone would be an iconic addition, giving players a chance to drive through one of the most historic railway tunnels in the world. The mix of modern infrastructure at places like Canada Water and Whitechapel with older stations like Wapping and Rotherhithe would also add to the atmosphere, making the route feel alive and authentic.

DTG has done a great job with London-based routes, but the Overground is still missing, and it’s time that changed. The East London Line has everything that makes a route fun—tight schedules, high-intensity gameplay, varied scenery, and tons of replayability. If there’s one commuter route that deserves to come to TSW5 next, this is it.

Would prefer to see this in the Met stock A60 era.

Good idea, however we already have three Overground routes, so I don't see them making anymore in the near future. Maybe in a few years time.

The other issue with this route is going to be subsurface stations, which apparently are currently anathema to DTG as they struggle with the light baking.

"Would be"? It's already in-game in the Mildmay line.
    Er...
...apart from the 3 Overground routes already in game?

Are you getting AI to write these suggestion threads of yours?
