Let's hope so. Tweaking Blackpool Branches and adding in the electrics as AI (or short loco swap services) will likely get me playing that route again. Kind of neglected it since Preston-Carlisle came out.
Just tried timetable sm49 on class 86 blu, and after dropping off first set off coaches there's a shunter blocking the path to the destination marker. You get stopped at a red shunting signal before it and the situation doesn't resolve (well, not in the 15 mins I patiently waited!). The shunter is showing 'off path' so the timetable would appear to be broken. edit - there's another sm49 5 lines down; that's broken too, as you can't get moving. The "I'm stuck" option didn't unstuck it either).
My main problem with this route is that it's so darn good, it makes my previous favourites (NTP, BCC) seem inadequate! The whole experience, from scenery to the physics and the detailed operation (eg Class 101) is just tremendous. It's raised the bar, no question!
I agree entirely. I could listen to the motor blowers on the 87 all day long. I can’t wait for the JT class 86, and if that is released combined with an update to the timetable for BPO to put 86/87s in Preston, that would be amazing. The only issue I have is that I cannot complete an end to end run without a crash (Xbox S) so I’ve just learned to save game every 5 mins.
I can't wait for them to be put into Blackpool Branches. I hope as well as AI they put in some short loco swaps, so you can at least take the 86/87 off and drive them to the sidings. Really think a touch like that would help Just Trains sell even more of their products.
Simulating on PC ! Is there any chance that this will be fixed ? This is quite annoying as I use a cheap programmable footpedal for the DVD acknowledgment. So I would have to reprogram that every time I play another timetable with a different cab end.
There appears to have been a new art piece erected just south of Shap Summit, using a material that looks suspiciously like an old stone wall from the field.
Hope this thread is still active. First off all, I am extremely glad to have invested in this route because it blends in all the beautifull old british locomotives that come with the grunt, grub and character from other dlc. But there are a few issues I want to adress. Here's what I picked up. I noticed AI males in the yard as in the workers. their eyebrows look rather long which is weird to look at and very bushy. Secondly there is no regard and respect for the pantograph even in the tutorial, the locomotive starts off with it raised and ready to go. Most train sims do want to show you the proper way and have it lowered by default so you get to understand the whole process if possible. I think the tutorial should be adjusted to include this. Also I can't verify the compressor is simulated because the pantograph is up already. When you raise it for the first time, you're suppose to hear the compressor run for a bit. Suggestion: Do you think we can give the class 31 that beautifull diesel smoke that's seen on the 47, 08 shunter as well. It's defenetly got a nice look and feel it. pouring out the way it is
I noticed that the instrument lights (dim/bright) do not actually work at all. There is nothing lighting up when you flick the switch. I suspect the air compressor unit does not work as well. I've watched an armstrong powerhouse video on the 87 sound pack and it should be there in this release regardless.I'm confident it's an issue. I haven't seen any arching yet. Suggestion! Please have the tutorial start with the pantograph down, cold and dark at least for that if not for the timetable scenarios where ever appropriate. I've emailed Just trains to report that the tutorial is too simple and does not cover enough, there is a beautifull engine room to walk through but we never get told about it and interact with any switches there, in SimRail their ET-22 does however. I noticed the Parking break is completely ignored even by the tutorial. I most other times any train that had one was highlighted and made sure the player interacted with it if it existed, not sure why it's not here with this product
All trains in timetable mode by default are already set up, none of them cold start. Kinda pointless having that in the tutorial when you'd never need to do it.
It should somehow be an option for a timetable service to -start from depot/siding/... -start cold It would remove a lot of clutter in the timetables, and immersion when you want to start cold edit: not specifical for this route
Why would you turn on instrument lights in the day and expect them to show? It’s a bit like putting your living room lights on during the day. You hardly notice. Trust me, turn them on and run in the dark and you will notice them lit up.
I seem to be getting a few of these random starts on foot with 31 and 47 services, one 31 service meant to be starting at Kingsmoor dropped me in Morecambe station
I have my bathroom and living room lights on and it's very noticable. I usually drive the class 66 with the instrument lights on, dimmed to about 20% brightness. So it's a habbit to focus on the instruments using the backlight
So, then, tell me. Are the instrument lights noticeably lit up? Here's the Class 87 in bright sunlight. 3 settings for the instrument lights: off, dim, and bright. Notice the difference? You can't, because it's light outside.
The problem is that all timetable services are by definition AI services, unless the player has taken control; and the AI doesn't have the capability of cold start-up.
XBOX Series S TIMETABLE SERVICE: 3M07 Stranraer Harbour - London Euston (08:28) BUG: Missing OHLE wires at Preston Parcels Platform.
Probably correct, but on the TEA tanker runs the max speed for the train is 45mph. Even though I can anticipate the speed upgrades through the HUD, it never actually allows you over 45. Visually checked the tankers and can’t see a max speed label for the obvious eyes!
Wagon speed limits depend on the maximum braking force of the locomotive. TEA wagons are usually class 6 freight (60mph speed limit) or class 7 freight (45mph speed limit). The locomotive headcode will tell you which it is.
This particular type of TEA is very unusual in that the Top speed is lower when empty than when loaded (45mph empty opposed to 60mph loaded), this was due to a flaw in the suspension of the bogies while empty that was never really resolved leading to the unusual situation of being faster loaded.
That would explain it! Thank you both. I had assumed that the 2 hour journey and dwell time in the loops would make some interesting gameplay.. wasn’t quite prepared for a rolling tour of lineside Cumbria!
Running 1M34 (express - Carlisle to Preston) seemed to have issues on the Hest Bank and Garstang neutral sections. Ran down the power, switched to off, passed through the section, waited a few seconds and then attempted to notch back up to power.. but it wouldn’t notch up. Checked everything else around the cab and there were no obvious issues. I reset simulation physics to no avail. I also reloaded a save (a couple miles before the NS’s) and had the same issue again. I then saved after the NS, during the power outage, reloading from that point and everything was fine. I could reapply power and notch back up to line speed. Whether there was a bug or glitch, or that I did something too ‘early’ I don’t know. But testing the save game method seemed to puzzle any explanation I could come up with! (Series S - if that’s any help)
You need to reset the pantograph. You need to check that the line light is on. If it isn't you have to reset it
I don't know how long it's been a thing or if I've been blind the whole time but if the additional separate timetables for freight and DMU services for gen 8 consoles are a recent addition, I'd like to show my appreciation and I'm so glad I can finally play these services in timetable mode rather than just spawning them in free roam.
Yeah, we did it based on feedback for the most recent patch for the route, we also added a new journey mode with freight and DMU services.
If you get nailed by a NZ, all you should have to do is press the panto up/MCB reset button on the dash, then apply power
Class 87 scenario - 0P02 Carlisle Shunting: 14:29 The scenario loads immedately with the 87 bouncing, as if it's just had a huge jolt/crash. Just me?
No. It's been reported on here before. It happens where the loco has uncoupled from its train. I reported it and another one at Preston. Nothing happened as far as I know.
Wonder if something has happened with the latest update. Massive amount of pax on track in CCL too based on another thread
That is lovely- you rarely see families in matching outfits any more (The "screenshot", of course, is fake; there are no kids in TSW)
Or matching hairstyles! Actually close up they look a little Neanderthal ( except for the sneakers ).
I have taken a run and this is still outstanding. In other news, I'm loving the new 87 variations, nice to have a bit of weathering!
Finally able to do a journey in conductor mode and check some tickets. One issue the passenger numbers in each coach changing. For example I walked along train from rear to front checking tickets. First class was quite full but by time I returned to those coaches, they were all empty. Then on the last ticket check between Penrith and Carlisle it was to check 1 of 0 tickets, which seemed odd, but when I checked the ticket, it thankfully went to "wait for the next stop". On another note, I couldn't get the passenger announcements to work but then realised the PA system was switched off. DOH! Also what's up with with the pronunciation of Carlisle?!!! Does Tom have a thing against Carlisle? (I'm assuming it's his voice).
PA system? What's that on? Thought only the 142 had it, but haven't really been keeping up to date on all things TSW recently
I don't have this DLC, so don't know what you mean - sorry. Can I confirm, are you saying that the 87 has working passenger announcements that you can trigger in the guard compartment?
The Mk1 NHA guards/parcels coaches have working guard passenger announcements which are manually triggered in the guard compartment.
Individually (like Blackpool), or just switch on at the start of the run (like Bernina does by default)?
