Sheffield - Lincoln Central with possible additional freight branches to maltby colliery and west burton power station 48 mile line connecting two major cities. the line passes through the outer suburbs of sheffield before continuing to nottinghamshire and lincolnshire via worksop, retford and gainsborough. this route would be set in the modern era, from 2011 onwards potential for additional two branches (depending on maximum mileage train sim world could hold), one starting/ending at maltby colliery and the other starting/ending at west burton power station. this section of the route has many freight opportunities, and as a route includes the impressive brookhouse viaduct. mixture of fleet available to choose from including class 153/158 and 144 pacer (operated by northern rail), with also class 66 for freight services would provide a variety of services, as well as some nice visual landmarks including the high level platforms of the ecml at retford, the towering power station outside gainsborough lea road, the large viaduct at brookhouse on the south yorkshire joint line and the skyline of lincoln as you approach. typical service pattern would be half-hourly/hourly (some services these days run semi-fast), with freight services linking maltby colliery and west burton power station via the main line between shireoaks and gainsborough. the main route is as follows: sheffield darnall woodhouse kiveton bridge kiveton park shireoaks worksop retford gainsborough lea road saxilby lincoln central i believe as a route it has significant variety for its size, and would make a great addition as a dlc.
This is one route I have been wanting to create. I just don’t have the first clue where to start. Despite watching you tube videos.
No. The closest yous get is Retford on the ECML. How do people find these year and a half old threads?
