This looks stunning. This game could be huge if they eventually add in more routes. Anyone played this game. What are your thoughts ???. I really want this as they are making Berlin U Bahn. Sadly SubwaySim hasn’t released for consoles yet.
May 2023 so just a bit over a year. It does indeed look neat. The attention to detail is incredible. Once this releases on console next year I’ll definitely be buying. Can’t wait to see more or the Berlin U Bahn. It has working CCTV screens on the Hamburg version. Sounds are bang on too. No stuttering. Seems to play smoothly at least from what I have seen.
Was intrigued until I checked Steam and saw… Aerosoft. Although TML Studios not mentioned it does look similar to their handiwork. Maybe one for a 50% off sale, buy and try exercise.
I’ll stay cautious with their products, Aerosoft tends to deliver unfinished products, and its support as well. Yep I got it this was published by them but not developed but still nearly all the products they sell is in the same state. I really enjoyed the Berlin subway DLC for MSTS and I’m glad a new subway simulator is coming soon on console next year, but I don’t want an abandoned-ware game again. World of Subways was great but since the NYC one 9 years ago, they seem to be done for good…
Aerosoft… Aerosoft have a couple of decent products, the problem is they’re in a sea of 100 terrible products they’ve also put out. They’re like Rivet, there probably is a couple of decent things in there somewhere, but I’m not going bankroll their scattergun business model.
I hope at least one of the routes come over to TSW. Bound to get the Capital City of Germany at some point…
These (and Münster-Bremen) were made by Jan Bleiss (Bahnjan), a first day train sim content maker who's doing this for fun now, just because he can. Nice to follow his progress on rail-sim.de.
I quite like Subway Sim Hamburg. I only paid 14CHF for it from CDKEYs and I'm not complaining about it - It's well worth that. I wouldn't have been quite so happy at full price though (39 CHF). It's very simple to play one handle to stop and start, but the graphics are pretty nice, very smooth on my PC and I'll happily come back to it for occasional runs. I wouldn't say it's in the same league as TSW though. I'll certainly be picking up the Berlin Version even at full price - Just because it's Berlin. I love the CIty in real life and therefore I'll pick up any train sim I can that is based there. Would much rather have it in TSW
I’ve always wanted to see Berlin in TSW. If the U Bahn never makes it in TSW then at least there will be this game.
Thread bump. Subway Sim can be put on the wishlist list but still no date announced, it’ll probably be released around Spring of this year.
Well it looks better and more complete than the Prague "Back In Service" which I think they had a bit of a nerve asking for £13.50 for in its current state, even allowing for early access. Proof of concept, more like.
It looks nice indeed and having 2 different cities is a big YES. I’m always skeptical with any product from Aerosoft but I do really hope it won’t be a miss. Subway simulators are really a niche category, not many are developing this kind of game and I do really miss the WOS series, sadly gone. I saw some videos, it looks really good but frankly, I always avoid early access, I’m waiting for the game to be finished. I saw that in the future they’ll add more lines and trains, it’s great but they also said that they’re a small team developing the game in their free time and I have the feeling they won’t have that much of a free time to update or even adding new stuff.
I must admit this got me confused. On Steam there is indeed a Subway Sim which looks like this, but also a pre release page for Subway Sim 2, which I presume this is. Of course Aerosoft and what looks like the evolution of TML Studios does raise a red flag. Still got memories of the rather poor quality of their previous World Of Subways particularly London where if you released brakes on the C69 stock it would start rolling uphill. A couple of years ago when I last tried WOS3, ran into an issue, contacted Aerosoft and was pretty much told, out of support and to fudge off. So nice as this looks, I won’t be in the vanguard looking to purchase.
Subway Sim is already out. It’s based in Hamburg. It’s an ok game but not worth anywhere near the price they are asking for it. Graphics are not even close to TSW levels and the gameplay is simple. As far as I know, it’s not available for consoles. Subway Sim 2 is to be based in Berlin. It’s not out yet. I’m interested in it. Because it’s based in Berlin. I initially thought I’d buy at full price, but having played Hamburg more and more It’ll need a big jump in quality to justify it. This one does appear as coming soon on PlayStation. But this has been the case for a long time on both Steam and the PS Store, so I’m not holding my breath.
So there’s still no official release date but according to Amazon it’ll be released on the 29th of April: And this French store, an equivalent to GameStop, at the end of March: Of course we have to take this with a pinch of salts but sometimes, retailers tend to have the date release before it’s officially announced. It can also be delayed.
I’ll be getting this. I’ve always wanted to see the Berlin U Bahn. I wonder why they posted 1.7.25 though ??.
Yeah me too, I really enjoyed playing the Berlin subway DLC on MSTS back in the days, truly an amazing DLC for its time. Then of course WOS 2 with the U7 and its F90 and H01, this was great. Why they posted 1.7.25 ? I have no idea, maybe they planned to release it this date when they took these pictures.
That’s great. not too long then . I don’t think the U Bahn will come to TSW sadly but thankfully we have SubwaySim if your into underground routes like myself.
I get your feelings as it’s an Aerosoft’s product, not developed by them but a huge part of their releases are meh. I’m not even gonna talk about the game’s support… If I’m not mistaken the Bakerloo line wasn’t a pleasant experience for DTG to do and I don’t think they’re really interested in making other subway content but who knows, maybe a third party developer might be into it.
