The first one is the A94 in Scotland https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wik...,_near_Glamis._-_geograph.org.uk_-_257163.jpg The second one is A142 in Soham https://commons.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:A142_Soham_bypass_-_geograph.org.uk_-_1580462.jpg The third one is near Kidlington in Oxfordshire is actually the A420 between Oxford and Swindon No results for the fourth one Fourth one has been confirmed as the A373 Maybe reading too much into this but you never know
That tells me we are getting Perth to Inverness, Ipswich to Cambridge and Oxford to Coventry in the not too distant future..!
The Hemyock branch. Told you steam was coming back! Nice little branch line, small tank engine, milk churns, cattle wagons etc. Bring it on…
i think the third one could be london to oxford via cml or east west rail oxford parkway serves kidlington
Turns out the photo is not initially where I thought it was, it may be the line down to westbury? gwr extension? i know that was written off when the remaster was first announced but it could have become a possibility?
Westbury could indicate something Mendip Stone based, or Bristol across to Salisbury perhaps? The loco in primer could be a Class 59 rather than a 66.
A94 could be the german E94 A142 either the pacer or a new german loco perhaps A420 we know what that is A373 surely not right? A Eurostar with nowhere to drive it on?
Could it maybe allude to something else? They probably want us to think Eurostar, but what if it meant a Class 73?
The Ludmillas (BR 242) were called BR 142 in the GDR (there, Diesel locos had a 1 instead of a he 2 as the first digit). AI trains developed from the LGV Med TGV, to make High Speed One on SEHS busier?
After how the Christmas reveals turned I'm not building my hopes up to much, even if it is a bit of fun!
DR BR 142 was a very small batch (6 locos), they are much more known as DR BR 130, 131 and 132, which were around 850 in total.
The DB 142 is unlikely, it's quite obscure, and hasn't appeared on any TSW routes in the eras they're set. A pacer in a modern livery might be likely - and would be a welcome addition to e.g. Glossop line or the new Alan Thomson route. A 373 could run on SEHS surely
Technically yes the 373 could run from St Pancras to Ashford but it's kinda pointless imo, especially since they don't stop at Ashford anymore
t̶h̶e̶ ̶3̶7̶3̶ ̶c̶o̶u̶l̶d̶ ̶r̶u̶n̶ ̶o̶n̶ ̶a̶ ̶r̶o̶u̶t̶e̶ ̶f̶r̶o̶m̶ ̶A̶m̶s̶t̶e̶r̶d̶a̶m̶ ̶t̶o̶ ̶R̶o̶t̶t̶e̶r̶d̶a̶m̶ ̶r̶o̶u̶t̶e̶ nope they dont have the NL power system or ATB
Except Eurostar runs non-stop through both of those. The HS1 route doesn't even have any stations at them.
I think people get too bogged down in exact years of routes' years. The years are chosen to represent an era - it's not like there's a different timetable for every year, so you're allowed to blur the lines a bit. A Eurostar stopping in Kent might not be 100% accurate, but no-one could argue that it would look out of place.
They specifically chose 2019 for the timetable (the times are an exact match to the real working timetables for the route), so safe to say it is based then. The extra stuff is either a callback (the ICE specifically), or for variety's sake.
Is it me or could these actually be hints to upcoming routes? I.E a GWR route that involves Oxford & Swindon, another scottish route and a route that goes through Soham?
On the plus side if DTG did a Eurostar route through the tunnel Rivet can't mess the scenery up Although sitting in a tunnel is a little boring
Well, right below the japanese one is an american flag...so, at least something american, so, you're not right with your complaint...
Soham station recently reopened which makes me think Ipswich to Ely/Cambridge. Also the mildmay line having non branded 720s in place of GA stock? maybe a 755 on the way? Edit: it was just over 3 years ago… time just doesn’t slow down
Technically, the class 373 could appear on ECML in GNER colours, but that would require the HST in GNER colours and a class 91+Mk4s for it to be accurate to the era.
As I said in the other thread, personally think the 373 a bit of a red herring. There were always licensing issues with Eurostar and the Chunnel comes out in France where SNCF so far as we know, still have the sulks with DTG.
I have to say the prospect of a long tunnel run doesn't particularly excite me. I wouldn't mind a class 73 though that'd be something if they could get it right! Although Dadrail who does drive them said they are quite a complicated locomotive so it'd be tough to get it right in TSW. It'd be nice to get a livery for the 73 "Bluebell Railway" that's now on the bluebell!
It was the DR BR 132. When they where incorporated in Deutsche Bahn, they where renumered im DB BR 232. The manufacturer of the DR BR 132, the Locomotive Plant Lugansk, built 1 Br 142 with 4000 hp for DR. But that was the only one.
