dear community, I have an idea for a new route for the Netherlands, I call it RANDSTAD. It's a route where u drive true the densest part of the Netherlands. The route will go from Amsterdam Central to Rotterdam Via Schiphol. And with an extra end destination at Den Haag Centraal. On this route u will find a total of 84 KM of track with 20 stations. *Den Haag centraal isn't calculated into this map view Before this route can be used we need to add a few trains to train sim world 5. First is the VIRM (Verlengd interregiomaterieel) with the following combination's (4, 6, 4+4, 4+6 and 6+6) this is the main train that's driving in this part of the Netherlands. They allow for intercity service between Amsterdam > Den Haag centraal and Amsterdam > Rotterdam. *Utrecht Lunetten, 11 augustus 2021. Gemoderniseerd treinstel 9516 is onderweg naar 's-Hertogenbosch. The second train what need to be added (but with less priority) is the SLT (Sprinter Lighttrain) Before the introduction of the SNG the SLT was the sprinter that was driving into the Randstad. Same as the VIRM it can be in the (4, 6, 4+4, 4+6 and 6+6) configuration. this train manly drive almost everywhere. From Amsterdam C. to Hoofddorp, Den Haag Centraal or Rotterdam of if u depart from Rotterdam u can go to Amsterdam C. or Den Haag Centraal *SLT-6-2613 laat als Sprinter naar Den Haag Centraal, 's-Hertogenbosch achter zich This route drives into the RANDSTAD there are a lot of stations. very old ones like Den Haag HS and also new stations like Delft. so here is the station list: Amsterdam Centraal (int + ic +sp) Amsterdam sloterdijk (sp + ic) Amsterdam lelylaan (sp + ic) Schiphol (int + ic + sp) Hoofddorp (sp) Nieuw-Vennep (sp) Sassenheim (sp) Leiden Centraal (ic + sp) De Vink (sp) Voorschoten (sp) Den Haag Mariahoeve (sp) Den Haag Laan v NOI (sp + ic) [ ic to Den Haag Centraal wont stop here] Den Haag Centraal (sp + ic) Den Haag Hs (sp + ic) Den Haag Moerwijk (sp) Rijswijk (sp) Delft (sp + ic) Delft Campus (sp) Schiedam Centrum (sp + ic) Rotterdam Centraal (sp + ic) for the routes there are a lot of route options. Intercity route's: Amsterdam centraal <> Rotterdam Amsterdam centraal <> Den Haag centraal Leiden centraal <> Rotterdam Leiden Centraal <> Den Haag Centraal Rotterdam <> Den Haag Centraal Rotterdam <> Schiphol Schiphol <> Den Haag Centraal Sprinter route's: (there is probably more, but this is what I could find for now) Amsterdam centraal <> Leiden centraal Amsterdam centraal <> Hoofddorp Amsterdam sloterdijk <> Den Haag centraal Leiden Centraal <> Den Haag centraal Rotterdam <> Den Haag Centraal thank u for reading and I hope u like my idea! Goodbye and happy train driving.
I would play this relentlessly. I lot of reconstruction going on at amsterdam central at the moment though, maybe wait a couple of years.
So yes that's the only bad part but I don't think they will change a lot to the station architecture itself. So for the outside looks it won't impact a lot. Because from what I have seen it's only track replacements and bridges updates on the other side of Amsterdam centraal. But to fix it u can make the route with an additional branch to Amsterdam Zuid, this will add a 3KM of track and makes it possible to have a 2025 and 2024 schedule (or an after Amsterdam centraal workings schedule)
You should've added the intercity from Schiphol Airport To Groningen in the timetable, since they run irl too. (would make it more enticing for DTG) Or the fact that the NS sng also runs there. And ofcourse, you can't forget the IC berlijn! And ice 3m or ice 3 neo. (depends on which timetable they'll choose). This will make it easier for DTG to choose it, since it already has a few rolling stock they could include.
