Npc's are out of control. I stopped a 465 at a station on sehs route. A npc decided to walk off the platform onto the front of the train.

Presumably something else they presently can’t fix, along with squelching sounds, the awful lighting and lack of more than one save slot.

This seems to be a newer issue, since I experienced it only on TSW5 routes as of yet. Frankfurt-Fulda has it (at Offenbach and Frankfurt Süd), Pfälzische Ludwigsbahn has it (at Neustadt(Weinstr) and some of the smaller stations) and Mittenwaldbahn has it too (most notably at Scharnitz).

Currently it's one of the most annoying bugs for me personally. I don't wanna run over people. I'm all for accurate simulation, but I don't want this particular aspect being simulated, bug or not. :(

Indeed, given the distress this kind of thing can cause, I sincerely hope it can be resolved quickly

Nooo, the weird and discomforting behavior of NPC's is about as old as the game itself.

It's hard to say whether this issue is technically impossible for DTG to solve or if they just don't consider it to be a major problem.

Then they need a hard rethink of their priorities.

licenses could be in jeopardy if some player starts posting videos on YT with his tally of peds/npc's killed under his train ...
after all, it's only a game, isn't it? Not even a serious simulation, or?

Whether it's a game or simulation, trains hitting people isn't a good thing. I very much doubt a TOC would be happy if they knew this happens often.

This is why I'm very surprised DTG are not giving it utmost priority. They will only have themselves to blame if a major partner such as DB took exception and pulled their licence.

Posted about Blackpool Branches' issue STILL BEING THERE after several patches (I think there was one yesterday so that's SIX patches now). No doubt there's many other lingering bugs which really shouldn't be there. Instead of working on new DLC, they should make sure the older ones are in a playable state.

I haven't seen a passenger walk in front of a train before. But on passengers, I've seen them clip through the floor or just...not get on the train after walking towards the door. Sometimes I've had a pretty empty train, whilst other times its jam-packed. Doesn't fit with any time during the day, either.

The game itself is getting better but somehow DTG makes it so that it's not noticeable. Had you asked me this before Zwolle-Groningen was released I would agree it's getting worse. Not a fan of TSW5 but I was very surprised with how the Dutch route looks and feels. So yes the game itself is getting better but most of the DLC is getting worse.

DTG DLC has very much turned into a fast food industry. Then every once in a while we get a TSG or JT route that’s like a steak dinner and shows what the game could be. I’ve said many times DTG is capable of making amazing DLC but they rush things out the door.

I think the game has definitely improved visually. Also the addition of things like the editor, scenario planner (which imo is still very basic tbh) and the livery designer has improved the game over time. But what disappoints me is, that after 8 years there is still no hardware support except for RailDriver. Come on DTG, it's long overdue.

And pay attention people: DTG almost never go into such topics and do not try to somehow communicate and explain the situation

I think I can confidently say that it is technically possible. The passenger behaviour issues are simply poor coding. There will be hundreds of developers out there who could fix so many of TSW's problems such as this.

DTG seriously need to somehow bring more senior coders with years of industry and Unreal Engine experience into this franchise, even if temporarily to resolve coding deficiencies and coach the existing teams.

Exactly what I’ve said. They need to be spending part of the revenue from this avalanche of recent releases on bringing in the necessary talent to sort out the core issues, not long meetings pondering how they can put pink umbrella collectibles in TSW6. I mean, GTA SA from 20 years ago now (writing that really makes me feel old) had more logical NPC pathing plus they even uttered random dialogue!

And sit down to work out a way to get Steam traction to the standard they deem acceptable to allow third party devs to come on board to make more locos for steam enthusiasts who are currently feeling ignored and frozen out.
