Once again, with the GWE remaster edging closer, it might be a good time to add a dlc with extra stock for DLOGW variety. During 1971, it would be common to see classes 22, 35, 42 and 43 around Paddington. These diesel hydraulic locomotives would add vastly more gameplay variety on both express and stopping services as they did in reality. The extra bonus is that these locomotives would also work with WSR as some of them have preserved examples that either reside or have visited the route.

A few images to set the scene.

    Class 42 and 43

All images are taken at Paddington around the 1971 period and are in the correct prototypical liveries. All were common performers at that time and would vastly improve the service variety on DLOGW which currently features only the Class 52 Western.
As a side note, the Class 42 and 43 Warship classes were near identical except being built by BR Swindon and North British Locomotive Company respectively and also having different engine/transmission combinations. One example even had a unique place having a Paxman engine instead of the usual NBL-MAN or Maybach type.

Although I always like to see some historic rolling stock, I don't think an add-on for Diesel Legends is the way to go (it'd be a DLC for a DLC for a DLC...). Also, adding these locos to WSR wouldn't really add much gameplay; WSR already has a fair selection of locos which can be used.

I'd rather see an era-appropiate route add-on which adds some new historic stock to our collection. Substitution or layers for Diesel Legends or WSR are an added bonus. Wouldn't mind seeing another heritage route either. I quite like WSRs slower pace.

As requested a few times, something like Exeter to Paignton circa 1970 would be Western Region hydraulic heaven particularly if it included a walkable Dawlish Sea Wall. Plus you already have the Class 45 and Class 47 for inter regional services, albeit the 45 really needs to be a 45/0 and the Laira based 46's tended to predominate. DMU wise a Class 118, 119 or 120 would be a better fit than recycling the 101.
