Train Sim World (TSW) in 2025 In my opinion, the future of TSW in 2025 looks promising. I anticipate the release of TSW 6, which will likely be a Gen 9 title available exclusively for PC. This update will feature an engine upgrade from UE4 to UE5, marking the end of the Gen 8 console era. While I believe Gen 8 posed some limitations to TSW, I am optimistic that Gen 9 and PC will not hinder its long-term growth. I am particularly keen on the introduction of longer, end-to-end routes, as they offer a more engaging driving experience. Here are some routes and train licences I would like to see in TSW: * Bedford to Brighton: This route should feature the Class 700/1 locomotives, complementing the existing Class 700/0. A lower-level route could also be included. * EMR in the Game: I would welcome the inclusion of EMR technology, utilising the upper level at St Pancras. * Canon Street and Charing Cross to Orpington and Sevenoaks: This route should utilise the Class 465, Class 375, Class 707, Class 466, and Class 376 locomotives. * Ai Southern Class 377 and Thameslink Class 700 at London Bridge: The addition of these locomotives to the game would enhance the rail network. * London Liverpool Street to Norwich: This route should feature the Class 720, Class 745, and Class 755 locomotives. * London Waterloo to Southampton: The Class 444, Class 450, Class 458, Class 484, Class 159, and Class 701 locomotives should be utilised on this route. Suggested Improvements: * London Fenchurch Street to Shoeburyness: The Class 357 and Class 720 locomotives should be used on this route. * Eurostar in the Game: The inclusion of the Eurostar E320 locomotive would be a welcome addition to the game. Routes I Would Like to See Remastered and Extended: * London Victoria to Brighton: This route should be remastered and brought up to TS5 Standard, incorporating Tod 4 lighting. * Southeastern Route Extension: The southeastern extension of the London Victoria to Brighton route should be made playable. * ECML Extension: * Peterborough Extension: To the southern terminus. * Doncaster to Leeds, York, and Harrogate Extension: To the northern terminus. * Harrogate Branch Line: To be included. * West Coast Mainline Extension: * New Street Extension to Birmingham: To connect the mainline to the new Street station. * Southeastern High-Speed Extension: * Ashford to Dover and Ramsgate: A new high-speed line alongside HS1. * Dartford to London Cannon Street: A new high-speed line. * Ashford to Paris: A new high-speed line via ICE 406M (renamed DGTstar). * TGV Route Extension: * Marseille to Paris: A new TGV route to connect Paris to Marseille. Included AI French Trains: * ICE 406M (renamed DGTstar) * Additional AI French trains
Would be nice to see them add a couple of the smaller branch lines such as Caterham, include another starting point at Norwood junction for the Thameslink services, Extend the short distance to West Croydon and extend to Lewes with Hop available for east coastway Also bring in Southwestern AI services, even if its just in the colours due to licensing issues (as well as overground since we have the rolling stock in game), so Chlapham Junction can feel a little more immersive... Add the short Branch line to Sheerness... Im hopeful that the GWR remaster might include the Greenford, Windsor, Henley and Marlow branches along with playable/AI services on the Elizabeth Line...(The heathrow express ext long shot)

Edit: seems I messed up the whole quoting thing. Won't let me edit it. How can it be gen9 but exclusively for PC? Also, why would TSW6 be PC only? You don't need to upgrade to UE5 (and I can't see it happening apart from a new game) to drop gen8, that's not how it works.
Updated timetable on current DLC with AI hull trains and Lumo, even if just colours on the 801 no titles, same with just creating an AI grand central 221 and 180s just to add to a more immersive experience.. Line seems rather empty In general would be nice to have timetable variation depending on rolling stock in game, could set one based in the 60s/70s/80s/90s or 2000 to accompany one Post lockdowns, this would definitely appease the masses (well me lol)
All Hull Trains, Lumo and Grand Central services are represented, they just parade as LNER trains so the route ain't empty. No point for Lumo anyway as it runs non-stop between Peterborough and Doncaster, unless it comes with the Newcastle to Edinburgh section (where there'd be more playability) and layers onto the current part. For the 802s there'd also need to be a fully functioning diesel mode (the 801s have a diesel engine, yes, but that's for emergencies only). There's no point just reskinning the 801 either. You wouldn't be able to have 180s or 221s as I doubt, given Grand Central don't want to license their livery, that they'd be allowed access to the trains.
How is Gen 9 exclusive to pc are you saying that dtg ditching Xbox series x no Gen 9 is PS5 and Xbox Series s/x is Gen 9
It's most likely that TSW6 will come on gen 8 and gen 9 consoles and PC since TSW2020/TSW2/TSW3/TSW4/ TSW5 came on these consoles unless if it editions and Timetables. For example: tran Sim World 6 special edition only comming on gen 9 consoles and PC That's one
Im asking for AI non playable for Lumo and Hull, they don't need to be in their livery just their colours to represent...that way we arent just looking at LNER all day! The WCML timetable I have has the 801 in Avanti West coast livery and its added so much more to that line! For grand central same, and why the license, just paint the train in Grand central colour and dont add their name.. I just dont get the license thing for a livery with Train sim you dont see that anywhere else...is it because the rolling stock is unique to them that's where you need the license? Easy way around it as Ive said before its called modders...Yes I know console users dont have the luxury but why should we all suffer because of them lol
If TSW went PC only....I'd stop buying their stuff. One of the reasons it's successful (In it's market) is that it's available on console. Not everyone has a PC Not everyone wants a PC Not everyone can afford a PC Not everyone can work a PC
And also here are some things I would like to see in TSW6 Core Routes UK: Great Eastern Main Line GER: Bahnstrecke Frankfurt- Heidleberg US: Feather River Canyon Deulexe Edition Great Eastern Main Line Bahnstrecke Frankfurt- Heidleberg Feather River Canyon GEML Class 90 (for great Eastern mainline) EMD SD59MX (for Feather River Canyon) London Overground Suffergete Line Special edition Great Eastern Main Line Bahnstrecke Frankfurt- Heidleberg Feather River Canyon GEML Class 90 EMD SD59MX London Overground Suffergete Line Scotrail Express Spoorjlin Zwolle - Groningen CN Oakville Subdivision London Commuter (Brighton Main Line) Frankfurt S Bahn Peak Forest Railway Improvements TSW2020 addons compatible with livery designer Realistic AI passenger behaviour Expansion & Extensions Great Western Express extended to Swindon Midland Main Line extended to Sheffield WCML South extended to Northampton Training Center Expansion (additional tracks for high-speed trains) Features Window Decals that can be used in livery designer Routes & Locos MARC Camden Line MML: London St Pancras- Bedford Class 99: for WCML South/ East Coast Main Line Schnellfahrstrecke: Bern - Rothrist Ringbahn Berlin Circle Eurostar Class 373: for LGV Mediteraneè South London Network Class 88: for Midland Main Line/ West Coast Main Line South Wales Mainline London Underground District Line TPE Class 397: for Manchester Airport Commuter Bahnstrecke Wuppertal- Dusseldorf Frankfurt- Koblenz route TGV Reseau Duplex: for LGV Mediteraneè Chiltern Mainline Holzfirchen- Worgl route TPE Class 68 + DVT sets: for Manchester Airport Commuter CSX Hanover Subdivision Amtrak ALC42: For NEC: New York- Trenton Wien S Bahn: Wien Hauptbahnhof- Wiener Neustadt WMR Class 196: for Birmingham Cross City WCML Trent Valley Frankfurt U Bahn Metrolink F59PHI: for San Bernadino Line ECML South DART Northern Commuter Line Class 180: for Great Western Express
Even if you don’t like tsw being available to consoles, you have to be realistic. The game would completely sink without them. To completely ditch 2/3 of the playerbase would be rather silly
I don't think ue5 would be a good idea. It would only make performance issues worse. Lumen and nanite might look beautiful but it's pointless if performance gets worse. Also you lose your entire collection of dlc because nothing is compatible with ue5. They need to be rebuilt from scratch because the way terrain is laid and route is built is completely different. I don't think anyone would enjoy rebuying everything
The 801 isn't on the WCML, unless it's a mod of some sort. Too much work for too little gain (yes it's only a livery, but they'd need to make sure that particular livery is on a particular train at a particular time which is easier said than done). And as I said, Hull Trains use the 802s which are bi-mode. You'd need a fully functioning diesel engine for it. Again, no license means they won't be allowed access to the trains themselves, this includes sounds. Grand Central use 180s (and occasional 221s), not 80x classes. The whole thing with licensing is for the brands mainly. The last thing a train company wants is their trains being portrayed in a way that could damage their reputation. And in the case of Grand Central, they aren't a franchise, so rely solely on people using their trains as they don't receive money from the government. Why should PC users have what console users can't?
Yeah its a repaint of the ECML 801 to represent the Avanti 805 on a modded 2024 timetable, it also includes the special livery 390s in service (with the 390s first class facing the correct way) along with the special livery LNR Eurovision 350104 and 377/7 (387 from BML) and the New Measurement train on several services using repainted GWR HSTs, along with overground service with /2 + /3 and underground including Rusty Rail and Seasonal Sleet trains.. nothing comes from the creators club, the repaints and the timetable have been created into a PAK file so a particular class and livery can be assigned individually to their correct route, none of this livery anomaly across a timetable from creator club liveries subscribed popping on to the timetable.. All Class 390 and 805 services that do not stop on the map and LU services from Elephant & Castle to Queen's Park and vice versa are AI only. So it can be done, or at least make it a better way to create timetables (not through scenario) that can allocate specific class/livery, watching the PC editor tutorials does seem like the program is kind of tedious. This is why I brought up AI as it can be done with repainted ECML 801 to represent visually as there isn't much difference in that sense. This was just my opinions and feedback on a way of adding immersion to the sim.. I am completely brand new to train simming in general, never owned one previously, despite having an enjoyment for trains and decided to take the plunge during the recent steam sales and while I have enjoyed my experience so far with TSW even after a couple of days playing I felt it somewhat lacking in areas and went looking to see if I could mod myself or if not what was out there to improve my experiences. Not only for the WCML but finding the timetable mod for the 700s on the BML, along with a lot of scenery enhancements on the British DLCs I have, Better sounds for the rolling stock in game and lighting and visuals have massively improved my playing experiences not only driving but spotting at stations. I was hoping someone may have created a similar PAK file to repaint an ICE 3M in Eurostar livery and created a timetable for the SEHS to implement them as AI, one can dream Shame it takes modders to create this experience but thank goodness for them...
My loco ideas: ET44AC/C4/ACH, more ES44ACs/AHs/ES44DCs, Dash-9s/AC44C6Ms/AC44C4Ms, AC6000CWs, U-Boats, Dash-7s, B40-8/B40-8W, SD90MAC/H/Ph. II/SD70ACU, SD80MAC, SD70MAC, SD70ACe-T4, GP60/M(-3)/B, SD60/SD60M/SD59MX, GP50, GP40-2/-3/N, GP39-2, GP39E/M/V BN rebuilt GP30s/GP35s, UP and ATSF GP30s (#844 and B-units included) and GP35s, Baldwins, FMs (H-24-66 Trainmaster especially), US steam locos, German steam, more British steam, modern British diesel freight power (Class 60, 70, etc.), Stadler Euro-dual British locos, Class 55 Deltics, Class 50 "Hoovers"
I think the Way forward is Gen 9 and PC only Leaving older GEN 8 behind that's ps4 and Xbox one behind in favour of the new Gen 9 ps5 and Xbox series x/s it called a transition period TSW6 should be on UE5 Gen 9 is PS5 Xbox series x/s and PC only
Just because gen8 is dropped doesn't mean the engine automatically changes to ue5 or there are major upgrades. Tsw will still be the same unfortnately.
Unlikely that SEHS will get another extension, but a Victoria or Sheerness Extension is very much needed.
my suggestion for this (would be awesome if it included the Stammstrecke and both underground and overground levels of Wien Hbf): https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/wien-wiener-neustadt.89902/
Stop NPC spawning and walking on disused or "not in service platforms". looks weird having them standing for a train on a platform were trains are on the fast up/down lines and do not stop at all during TT services
Or, make sure the only NPCs that spawn at these places are ones with a camera (in the case of a platform not used for regular service, they shouldn't be able to get to a disused platform), simulating trainspotters.
Stop rehashing the same rolling stock, we need more trains! ..if you do that at least create the variants ie the Desiro, Aventra and 800s family Not fussed if they arent designated to a particular line or the line isn't in game, people can use in free roam...plus at least our "cough" modders "cough" can fix liveries and TT modes like they do now!
