To start, I didn't really know what prefix to put as this is simply an update. Also, I understand that there has been difficulty in accessing liscences from WMR after the LNWR incident. Birmingham Cross City TT Update: This update would include a new form of rolling stock, the Class 730 EMU which now runs the route as opposed to the Class 323. This can be done similar to how Cathcart Circle introduces the Class 380. Adding this modern EMU would definitely brighten up the route and give an EXCELLENT route some more character. Another addition could be layers from WCMLS including the Class 350 and 390 Pendolino. I am unsure whether the 350 or 730 run the Walsall - Wolverhampton route but either would add more gameplay overall. The last thing that could be added is SOHO depot as a depot is incredibly important to every route and the addition of a depot would increase gameplay and service amount. Hope this is clear.
Now that we are getting Cardiff City Network, this would be a great way to include those layers as well. Hopefully this does happen at some point
Totally agree with this. I think the Orange 730/1s run between Coventry and Wolverhampton and along with the route already in TSW. 350s and 730/2s (the green ones) will run the fast services from London and the North through this section of route. As I've said before a Class 730 pack would be brilliant if it includes both versions so that WCML South can have a new timetable with 730/2s.
We've seen it with the 700, 390 and 380 introduction as standalone DLC so 730s would be a welcome addition as it adds layers to BCC and WCML! Here's hoping..
Would love this but in terms of updating with the Class 730 it could be tricky if DTG can't get access to the train. A backdated timetable update still using the 323 but with additional layers and the depot access could be done though.
Assuming the Aventras on the LMR are only cosmetically different then there shouldn't be a problem. There are plenty of photos of the interiors and the cabs on the web and there's nothing stopping someone taking photos in a train. If they sound the same as 710s then they'll probably use those recordings. The only issue is the higher top speed of the 730/2s. I don't know whether they've recorded an Aventra at that speed, but if it's possible to recreate the sounds of a plane using software, I'm pretty sure it can be done for to simulate a 730 at 110 mph. If we're going backdated. Let's have Class 304s and 310s mingling with newly introduced 323s.
I'd hope that a lack of access to another version of a modular train design wouldn't derail such a project. While the 730 has a different cab layout, they're using mostly the same parts that you'll see in other Aventras. The software and screen displays are probably the biggest challenge. Plus, I know the 323 was achieved with the co-operation of the TOC and a 323 driver in particular. The TOC aren't going to be around in a year so maybe a 730 pack would have to wait a little longer.
