PS5 just crashed again as an unannounced small update appears on Steam ... for Mattel, not for Sony ?
PS5 Texture blurring continues, it doesn't look like a very successful optimization at the moment Class 378 substitution on WCMLS unfortunately still with missing transition bellows and cables from the crossing continuing under the wagon to the track. This is the problem, that makes 378 unusable on the WCMLS map
All I have to say is: If I wanted to play a train simulator with blurry textures with no passengers boarding/exiting my train, then I'd play the fictional Stepford County Railway roblox train simulator for free. Not pay $29.99 USD for a route that is supposed to be immersive, hyper realistic, and accurately presenting its real life counterparts. Absolute shambles this route is in even after this "patch" rolled out. Another instance of DTG slapping a bandaid on a gash and calling it a day.
The route was created by one person, not DTG. If it's making you this angry you should probably uninstall the game.
I am not bashing Johannes in the slightest, all the issues I've listed are core issues of TSW as a whole which is controlled by DTG. I actually am impressed and applaud Johannes's work and even bought the route to support him. I'm just frustrated from such peculiar issues in this game five iterations later.
PS5 just done a full run from Willesden to Stratford after latest update. Got as far as Camden road when blurry texture came back, in cab all switch labels and safety posters totally blurred, exterior station signage all blurred all the way to Stratford. Also some really excessive suspension movements around Gospel Oak and after Hackney Central.
Passenger behaviour improvement is visible. Saw a lot more passengers getting on or off the train. Though I did also observe a full (AI driven) 378 moving into the bay platform at Stratford, with no one getting off. Haven't seen any texture blurring since the previous update (I play in 4k, motion blur off, some layers activated), but some stuttering at various known places along the route. PS5.
I'm just doing a run now from Stratford to Willesden junction no issue with blurry textures so far but passengers still aren't getting on or off the train they did at Stratford but as I go along still nothing xbox series x
On the route to Stratford, passengers board and disembark from the train, but after that stop, this movement no longer occurs. Besides that, the sound inside is very low. PS5
PS5 crash anew. Same old same old. Punished for buying all real rail DLC. I detailed these persisting bugs in Trouble Shooting forum. Wadda waste of my time and the effort required for me to type letter by letter this pointless missive. For PS 5 this is not even a Release Candidate. Not fit even as a Public Beta. Not fit to be sold ... especially not here, at 53$ plus 15% tax. And what rebate can we expect as our due for our paying to be DTG beta testers ? What do beta testers receive ? DLC key codes ?
You choose to buy, that's on you. It is not at all anyone's fault but your own that you made the conscious decision to purchase this.
I've never understood what causes that kind of bug, but have observed other trains wheels sometimes seeming to be slightly below the top of the rail and kind of going through it [not on Mildmay, I don't have the route]
PS5 just tried to run service 2L08 clapham/Stratford on setting up the train cannot access safety systems panel other than vigilance which ultimately means no platinum medal. It would be very nice if there was an option in UI to toggle safety systems on or off as default.
Agree completely the whole game would benefit from a safety systems on/off in the settings. Just in case you aren't aware, if you hook up a keyboard (either bluetooth or usb) then you can turn everything on using ctrl+enter and shift+enter, we shouldn't need to do that, but useful workaround.
Question for those who have the route, is the Iconic Copper Box in the route? I've seen videos featuring the other Olympic Park icons, but nothing at all of the Copper Box, which leads me to believe it might not be in there. I only ask as it's somewhere I've worked/visited often and it's slap bang next to the line before you reach Hackney Wick. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Copper_Box_Arena#/media/File:Copper_Box_Arena_(geograph_3642114).jpg
Floating fence on track at Homerton: Missing texture at Homerton: At this station (cannot remember where) you can go through a wall: Also, at Highbury & Islington, you can go from platform 1/2/3 to 4 but not from platform 4 to 3/2/1 via the footbridge.
I cannot replicate that floating fence issue you are having at Homerton (on PC), what platform are you on, PC or console jack#9468
Now we know Mildmay is getting an extension to Richmond how long will the extended route be im not familiar with London lines
Would be nice if the 378 appears as AI layer on Goblin (instead of the 710s now representing Mildmay at Gospel Oak)
The texture problem resembles a console memory problem (the same thing led to CTD in MSFS20). Then I save the game, close it completely to the desktop and run TSW again. It works. Besides, I only had a texture problem on Xbox once, the first time I ran the route. Now I don't see a problem. But I only drove about 6 times, so not much.
I'm on xbox series X I've turned alot of the layers off. Just left the 710 the docklands and the layer that gives you the freight. Havnt had a problem since doing that. I know its not a permanent fix but you really don't notice the missing trains as you hardly ever see them. The thing I've found is it seems impossible to get platinum medals on amy of the scenarios. I'm nearly a thousand points out on some and yes I use all the safety systems.. any one else managed to get platinum ?
We noticed long ago the scoring for the scenarios is a problem. I did a near perfect run of one with safety systems on and got a gold (only dropped 4pts).
Agreed. Turning most of the AI layers off will save you a lot of grief. Especially if this layers are only very rarely seen. Turning of the 710 would lose too much immersion for me though, so that's the minimum I keep activated. The required scores are just not correct. Perfect runs won't award you platinum in most scenarios.
Finding it’s getting worse for me on Xbox Series X - blurry textures within minutes and full crash by the time I crossed the ECML (setting off from Willesden). First time I’ve had a crash to dashboard.
Hi there! I'm on PS5 and own all layers to this route and was wondering which add-ons should I disable to have good performance without a near empty rail scene? I've heard the class 700 and ECML are fine to disable as they are hardly ever present throughout the route but I still got FPS drops without those and now I'm curious if I need to disable even more layers to prevent this. Thank you in advance.
See my post on page 5 which has consistently worked for me on PS5. These are the ones I disable as they really can only be seen if you are using external camera a lot (tricky to do when stops are so close together): ECML All Thameslink SEHS MML WCML - 350, 390, 377 Chiltern Great Northern I think the traffic around Kings Cross and St. Pancras is a big factor as blurred textures have tended to kick in for me from Camden Road onwards when I have all the layers activated.
I don't know which layers to deactivate exactly to what effect. I only activated the layers which have most impact on gameplay and immersion. Don't expect miracles though, there are still FPS drops in places, just noticably less. No blurring at all so far.
PS5. just tried Mildmay line after a few weeks away, apart from blurry textures mainly all the labels in cab, the major issue for me is not being able to access the safety systems panel which as far as I am concerned makes this route unplayable which is a shame as it is a great route. In future I will not be purchasing any new DLC on release day I will wait to see what issues arise then make my decision.
When the route released the safety systems worked just fine but after the first update is when they stopped working
That's just not true. I have been playing it after the update and they work just fine. Yes, also PS5. And as jack#9468 says, turn them on first.
Ok in desperation I uninstalled and reinstalled the DLC. Now the safety systems work which is great but blurriness is still there
So in reality, it's not there then. Such a shame, one of the iconic buildings on the Olympic park. Thanks for replying.
