Hello everyone Now that the Netherlands has made its entrance, I can't resist making a suggestion about it. The line is a busy railway link between two major cities. With many viaducts, obstacles, and certainly not to forget the waterways and the beautiful scenery This route would be 118 km/h long but only if it goes to Elten (Rheinspoorweg Amsterdam -Elten) Why specifically these line? The combination of busy stations where there is a connection with four railway tracks, twoon in each direction provides a new experience, where the timetable is important and there are quite a few stations for sprinter services. There is a unique opportunity for the current Dutch rolling stock but also for the Dutch ICE that runs along Utrecht and Amsterdam - Amsterdam Centraal - Amsterdam Muiderpoort - Amsterdam Amstel - Duivendrecht - Amsterdam Bijlmer ArenA - Amsterdam Holendrecht - Abcoude - Breukelen - Maarrsen - Utrecht Zuilen - Utrecht Centraal New rolling stock NS SLT Sprinter - max speed 160 km/h - ATB - Year of construction 2007-2012 NS Virm ((DD-IRM)) - max speed 160 km/h - Year of construction 1991-2009 Wikipedia: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spoorlijn_Amsterdam_-_Elten Cab view link YouTube
Personally I don't understand the appeal of this route. It's a straight 4-track section almost all the way between these two cities, with not that much interesting scenery. I guess both ends of the route in Amsterdam and Utrecht are interesting, but anything in between... not that much.
tbh the route is not super interesting but if it got arnhem aswell then it would be interesting bc you have to the veluwe which is super large forest area in the netherlands and will a full route form amsterdam to arnhem would allow for a full ice 3M service in the netherlands aswell
