ČD Cargo (ČDC) is a state-owned Czech railway operator

Complete speculation, from what Ive seen on here and on dev streams.
    Visit to Virgin trains.
Likelihood of a UK route coming.
    No UK electrics yet.
Cab sway in testing phase. Youtube RRO pre release stream 54:40 ish.
New foliage techniques. More dense backgrounds.
My baseless conclusion. Pendolino with a decent distance route, possibly double track through rural areas. With Cities like Preston, Lancaster or Carlisle as destinations, using the building techniques of Peninsula Corridor.

I dunno if Dovetail is bold enough to do another UK diesel route. Hoping next is either UK electric or steam...

I will be massively disappointed if the next UK route is BR blue again.

It’s time we had something longer, electric and modern for the U.K.

I wouldn't be at all surprised if, as said a few posts above, the next route is a stretch of the WCML in modern times

Their licensing with Virgin (though of course, they won't be operating the WCML franchise from December!) and their trip on the Pendo may be a clue?

We already have a 66 and freight which would fit in nicely, would of course need a 350 and with London Midland no more, shouldn't be a problem having it in that livery?

Only concern for me would of course be length of route, if the terminus is Euston then the absolute minimum should go as far as Rugby (maybe with the inclusion of the Northampton section), Milton Keynes just wouldn't cut it, by the time you've reached top speed for a bit, it would be time to slow down again

I’d love the WCML South route.

However the problem is the pure amount of number of stations between London Euston and Rugby/Northampton. Don’t forget all of these stations need to be detailed and accurately modelled which DTG has said takes up the most amount of time during route building. Plus you’d have to include all the London Overground stations too.

The trouble with Rugby is that as far as I know a lot of trains don't stop there, that would also be a longer route than we have seen so far in TSW. I would rather see something like Crewe to Liverpool. Coventry to Wolverhampton would be viable although you wouldn't get that much high speed running.

I wonder if that Virgin trip is a red herring, I have a suspicion it will be a third rail route, they have released several of those in TS1 (including their latest route) I wonder if they have more licences set up for that region? Or, maybe another GW route, the Exeter to Paignton would be a popular choice and they already have the HST, although if they were going to release that route personally I would rather see it back dated to the 70's or the 50's, but I think the next route should be modern. I long to see steam but think that must still be at least a year away sadly.

Not just that, the diversity of rolling stock would also become an issue, a mainline with few trains? Especially one running into a London terminus

I would say that a modern UK electric route is a very realistic thing to expect to see in the very near future. If I had to guess, I'd say that London-Brighton is the route they would go with, as it is still one of the most popular routes for TS, despite it being over 7 years old at this point. It would also incorporate two of the things we've seen so far with this cycle of routes, route length (50 miles) and a split route with both the Quarry Line and the Redhill Line from Purley to Earlswood.

Unless they've got multiple teams working on DLC, or it's a flash from their second party dev team they spoke about last year... or several other possibilities

Are theses “depots” on steam db. Actual depots? Or could they be locations?

Neither nor. The world is not made of railways only.

"A depot is a logical grouping of files which are all delivered to a customer as a single group. Depots are uniquely identified by a Depot ID."
    -SteamDB

In other words, depots are pieces of software consisting of many individual files. E.g. games, DLCs, programs in general.

I'm hoping for something similar to the BR Heavy Freight pack for RSN/RRO/MSB. Diesel shunter and some more varied rolling stock would be sweet.

    What was it last year?
    WSR 33 in November
    NTP in December
    MSB in January
I think it will be same this year.
There surely is a pre Christmas route DLC.
Thats a month off, do a dlc pack in the mean time.

    Forgot that! LIRR and NTP.
So it is possible for another 2 routes and a dlc.
Do you think TS2020 dtg releases are in any way linked to TSW ones.
Such as the recent release of the Pacer on TS? Cab sway has been talked about on 2 TSW dev streams now. The ts2020 stream mentioned getting in sway physics before a pacer release. The RRO stream talked about sway physics in testing.

I think the new route will be released in December, featuring Virgin Trains on the WCML. Not only does it fit the release pattern but Virgin also withdrawals from the WCML in December. It would seem fitting that DTG would immortalize Virgin in their game the same month they depart from the route.

I'm not very familiar with the WCML but I know Crewe to Liverpool Lime street is quite a likely candidate since its less than 50 miles, has the Runcorn viaduct and Crewe has a big freight yard. Not sure if the Desiro's run on this line but would be great to drive them along with Pendilino's and a freight train if applicable.

I can imagine a route featuring, Voyager, Pendolino and the Thunderbird 57. A 66 could just be added via a layer with freight. I dont know if they have the Northern, ATW or Transpennine express licenses.

I still can't compete with DTG saying 50 miles is too much work when Asobo studios work for the next installment of Flight Sim incorporates 1.5 billion trees, authentic buildings with all the nuances of the actual places. I could go on because what we've seen so far IS next gen; Not one to compare but if these guys can offer the entire planet and every single detail. Well, 50 miles at £29.99 is a tad ridiculous - I gather the speed of travel and loading data is a factor but clearly UE4 has no problems that I've noticed; even on my 3 year old workhorse

You have to remember they have direct access to Bing mapping data for Flight Sim 2020, something DTG would have to pay ALOT of money to MS for if they were to use that in TSW.

Comparing a flight sim to a train sim is apples to oranges as well

Can you pause in mid air at high speed and walk up to the building to see if the window reveals fit the window panes? If not then the level of detail is not the same, because you CAN in TSx and TSW
Most flight sim realism is where they expect you to be on land and the remainder is as high res as you might need from a few thousand feet away rather than a few inches

    Interesting.
I haven't found any information about MRCE even owning these wagons. Maybe there is a Czech route in works and these wagons were just reused for the RRO.
    Here's my guess:
Part of the 3rd transit corridor somewhere between Prague and Ostrava.
ČD 163 locomotive for Freight trains and regional passanger trains (can be substituted by the BR 185.5).
ČD 151 locomotive for intercity and express trains.

Czech wagons are interesting sign, but it's nothing unexpected. Lots of freigth wagon goes throught many Europe countries, especially neighbour one. Zacns wagons are Dutch.

Asobo may be doing the bulk of the dev work, 200 staff I heard, but it's using data provided by Microsoft and being funded by Microsoft who have somewhat deeper pockets than DTG. They've also been working on it since 2016 and general release is not expected until mid to late 2020. Even then it won't be finished as they too have a wishlist of items to be added at a later date.

DTG have never said 50 miles is too much work, they’ve said that the longer the route is, the longer it’ll take to create. It’s that simple.

The talk is not about countries, but about the railway operator, Zacns belongs to the virtual operator DTGX ;)

We are talking about both because the wagon's operator defines it's country. If these wagon's were made just for the RRO route, they would most likely be in DB livery.

No, not really. Your typical mixed freight train is made up of wagons from all sorts of owners from all sorts of EU countries - more precisely, all sorts of RIV member states, RIV being an international agreement on freight car specifications. Dimensions, weight, brake systems, etc.

Plus, outside of their home market UK and the US, where they had no choice but to include custom trains with each new route so far, DTG couldn't care any less about rolling stock accuracy. Just look how every DoSto coach in TSW is stationed at Magdeburg according to its markings. On RT that makes sense, but on RSN, MSB and RRO, none whatsoever.

ARuscoe you sound like those types of people who must without fail, contradict everything; and have a dig at someones enthusiasm. I know people like that as I encounter them at work; we have no time for that here my man.

I look forward to FSX2020 and hopefully third party work in TSW to show what it can really do, just I am impressed, naturally with the level of enthusiasm from these devs which we haven’t seen in a long time.

come on now ARuscoe, lighten up its Friday

Oh, how I would love a Czech route...
Just not the third corridor, please

When I asked on RRO stream if they would break away from the holy trinity of countries in the near future, they said they would like to, but ultimately the answer felt negative.
So most likely when they were photographing for textures, they simply stumbled upon a Czech wagon.

Oh no. Had they compared like with like I might have agreed with them. Comparing apples with oranges, especially when the oranges are made by a company with unlimited processing power and a billion dollar development budget and the apples are made in Chatham...

And I deal with spurious muppetry at work too, but I tend not to argue when they're accurate
