Operations Shift for PZB Ack is missing on every German loco where CIRCLE button is used as Sifa Ack and deadman pedal action only ( as it should be.) PZB Ack must be done pronto as it is always an urgent action response. It cannot wait for a cntrller view reticle to find a desk hotspot. Current D-Pad Operations Shift combos with Square button abnd D-Pad are: D-Pad arrow R is PZB release ( never urgent ) D-Pad arrow L is PZB over-ride ( seldom used ) Down arrow is Sand ! There is always time to find that control or BT keybrd 'x' key. UP arrow is unused, so let us get that assigned to PZB Ack pronto, SVP.
PZB Acknowledge is Circle on all German trains. Every single one. It has been for years. There’s nothing to fix. There are no German trains that have Circle assigned to just Sifa, they all use Circle for both PZB and Sifa, with PZB acknowledge only being active when needed on some more recent trains (to avoid the PZB sound playing when pressed just for Sifa, but it still works when a press for PZB is required). As far as I know there are currently no German trains where the Circle button does not work for PZB acknowledge on PS5 but if there are the only fix that would be done is to make the Circle button work on them. If you know of any where the Circle button does not acknowledge PZB you will need to name them in order for a fix to be enabled. As for accessibility, having a two handed operation using the operation shift for PZB acknowledge (which needs to be done quickly) would be a backwards step as two button operations would be required in quick succession as apposed to the current one button, Circle. It also wouldn’t be a good idea to have different schemes for different trains. It’s fine as it is. Just to make it clear again, PZB Acknowledge is Circle on all German trains on PS5.
If we are after a QOL for PS5 controls then I would suggest one for master switch/key on and off. It’s an absolute pain having to try and find the sweet spot with the waggle sticks, particularly when hidden behind another control or lever. Ctrl-W on the PC is so much easier.
That’s why many of us have a keyboard attached to our PS5. So many shortcuts available and better switching of internal and external cameras with the keyboard. Best of both worlds.
