It its, its the dual mode version of the vectron for both diesel and electric operation. Mind its a "proper" diesel mode unlike the last mile function of some locos which are just used for shunting to unelectrified sidings. A dual mode vectron would be nice, but were missing some proper german diesel routes for it except Maintalbahn. and the suggestion is very bare...
liking this a lot, I believe also Slovakia is thinking of getting some of these to have some locos capable of doing both express portions and diesel portions (and as far as I remember, it is 160 kph in electric mode and 140 in diesel?)
In my opinion, I will prefer a brand new locomotive for freight, than one we already have modified for 2 power modes. Even a bigger one, for more power and longer trains. I would like to have the Stadler six axle Euro 6000. It is a very nice locomotive from the design point of view too. It will be also like modern version of the Class 66. This locomotive even is offered on all power systems: Only diesel, only electric and the Euro Dual the "Hybrid" one. In my country - Uruguay - we have brand new diesel Stadler six axle locomotives
The Stadler Euro Dual is one of most capable Hybrid locos. It has 500 kN tractive effort. And it has 6 axles.
and a very nice and sleek design, unlike some older freight stock that was just ugly cos function over design
And it's Diesel Engine has an impressive sound. It's louder der than the Br 232. I can hear a lot of them each day.
