Hey guys, I wanna know the best myths about train sim world that I could bust for a new series for my YouTube channel, let me know in the comments if you’ve got any ideas or myths that need busting
That it’s probably not quite as bad as we think or feel it is, otherwise we wouldn’t keep coming back for more…
DTG's bug report folder is the recycle bin. If you can bust that myth, a lot of people would be very happy.
Rivet's name came about because they were inspired by a small, uninspiring object that you don't have to develop into a hole with any degree of care or attention in order for it to still serve it's purpose
A myth, a wish I have seen alot last year is that DTG moving over the UE5 will magically fix the issues currently present. Likely, it'll have one or two issues fixed and introduce 36 new ones. But at least you'll have smashing graphics, I guess.
The myth that LGV is the most played route in TSW. Honestly can't believe it. Even if statistics at DTG really show it to be the most played, I am confident that their statistics are bugged. And seeing how bugged TSW is, I wouldn't be surprised if some other routes might also count for LGV while being played, lol
Did one run on that, never played it again. Not even installed anymore. Thank goodness I got it in a sale for a stupidly low price.
Peterborough to Doncaster was the most requested section of the ECML more so then London Kings cross to Peterborough/Doncaster! hence why we got that section first!
Big myths BR doesn't sell. Steam isn't wanted. Southern region doesn't exist anymore. (South west, south and south east) The uk only has the class 66 for freight traffic. People only want Fast trains.
That's because they focussed so much on SR in the TSW2 days that people complained so they moved further north. Didn't fix the issue, just moved it.
To be honest I didn't know they were giving them away. If it wasn't for the kids downloading them for tsw and TSC I would have missed it.
A few more: The seller doesn't know what sells. The telemetry that shows what people are playing doesn't actually show what people are playing. To succeed, a business must ignore what people show they want in favor of what they say they want.
In terms of mileage, it could well be the case. There was a trophy/achievement in TSW2 where you had to drive 10.000 miles. LGV was the quickest grind for this, given the top speed of the train and the straightforward route. Makes me think that this could actually be true.
Myth: This forum represents the majority of players in the game. They never said BR Blue doesn't sell just it doesn't sell as well as modern traction. The never said people don't want Steam what they said was they have run into a roadblock and can't make steam physics work to give a more realistic experience. Which I i take to mean we have spent way too much time and investment that financially it doesn't make sense to continue work on Steam physics. And they way the community has reacted to how it was presented there is no point in releasing any more Steam with the physics they way they are. So the community is partially to blame. Same with US frieght.
Why cant DLC's be joined as layers on top of each other where the lines join rather then creating two separate DLCs with route hopping, example Glasgow -Edinburgh + Fife circle could have been joined would have been mega in playable services and AI rather then the old route hopping where one lacks more then the other.
Because that then would require 3 timetables to be made as the timetables are not connected. So you would have to make one for each route and then make one for both routes together. Also you have to connect the signaling systems. Then there is the baking issue so you would end up with having to make a LIRR V2 so you would technically have to buy both routes a 2nd time as with the work that will go into it they won't give it away for free.
