Hi all, Transpennine Express is in my opinion one of the major British intercity operators that we're missing in TSW, so that's why I'm suggesting this route. General Information: ~50 miles long 16 stations Only diesel Intercity and regional services. This route will run between Leeds and Hull in 2025 and have services run by Transpennine Express and Northern. Rolling Stock This route will feature three trains: Class 802 for Transpennine Express. Class 185 for Transpennine Express. And lastly the class 158 for Northern Trains. Transpennine will run intercity services between Leeds and Hull, making in-between stops at Brough, Selby and Garforth. Northern will run all stops services. Layering Routes and Loco DLC's that can layer onto this route: ECML: Doncaster - Peterborough And ofcourse any class 66 wil do on this route. In the end, I think this route can be an excellent addition to the British DLC collection, as it's another route that's outside of Greater London that still runs between two major cities, with a variety of DMU's. Thanks for reading!
Great suggestion. I think looping in York could help get the most out of this route with extra stopping and express services to Leeds and Northern services from York to Hull (Bridlington in real life) via Sherburn. Class 158 needs a minor tweak to northern spec and the 185 is one of my most desired units. This route has all the aspects of a day one purchase for me.
I would kill for a 185 in TSW, we could also perhaps include a Hull Trains livery for the 802 for services between Hull and Selby and even a Northern livery for the 170 seeing as Fife Circle already has the 170. I love this route suggestion as it's also pretty close to home
I like the idea of a modern TPE route. However, the original NTP is still lacking dlc layers in the form of the purpose built Class 124 dmus as well as the Class 123 sets that were operating in the area during that time. I would pay handsomely for these dmus to finally make an appearance in TSW as they would add drastically more variety to this route.
It is a little odd as it reflects the route before AWS was installed. NTP could do with various upgrades along the lines of a remaster as well as multiple dlc classes to better fill the route, many of which I have listed multiple times before.
