Hello. I have a problem with the 32 bit edition of TSC. After playing with the 64Bit Edition (DX12 experimental) I found out that the 32 bit edition was by far better to play than with the 64Bit or 64Bit Edition (DX12 experimental). So after finding that out, I obviously switched to the 32bit edition, but to my disappointment a lot of the 3rd party routes started to crash lt. become entirely undriveable (RWA and RSSLO). The Semmeringbahn, Mittenwaldbahn and the other steam routes work fine. I was wondering if I’m the only one with this issue or if there’s someone out there facing the same trouble as I do. I hope I can find some help here and I’d really be thankful if someone knew what was going on. Thanks a lot.
Only a small proportion of computers will run TS better using the 32 bit version as opposed to the 64 bit one. The DirectX 12 version is experimental and from my experience generally performs worse than the DX9 64 bit version. Nowadays most people will use the 64 bit version, as it's a lot more stable and runs better too. The 32 bit version is effectively just along for the ride. The crashes you experience will likely not happen in the 64 bit version. Out of interest, what are the specs of your PC?
Processor: 12th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-12450H 2.00GHz RAM: 16GB (15.7GB useable) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2050 Those are my specs for my laptop
I'm not sure why you're getting better performance on the 32-bit version then, as the 64-bit one is the one that runs better for most people.
I´am not wondering. Just before DTG released the 64bit version they brought out Frankfurt Highspeed. That route already couldnt´get loaded properly in 32bit - perhaps, with luck in QD without any KI but even then TS could crash after some time driving. Mostly DTG routes perhaps might be running since then in 32bit too, but I assume most 3rd party build their routes since then from beginning for 64bit (so they could use more details, KI, ...). Only some chinese addons didn´t worked in 32bit over long time too. I believe I had once since one of these yearly TS-updates similar experiences that starting the 64bit version of the railworks.exe the fps was extremly bad. I had solved it after I renamed the railworks64 into the normal railworks.exe (and the normal one into ~32bit.exe). later I found out that in some Options of Windows must done some changes - dont aks me what the English terms are, but in german you must go to: "Grafikeinstellungen" => and under "Grafikleistungseinstellung" you must add the Railworks64.exe [the original unchanged/unrenamed one] and change the option to High Performance [causing using the grafic card]. Since then I didnt must rename anything and the 64bit version runs with good fps.
