Hello, all! Lately, I have been working on a rail line very dear to my heart the West Wales Line. It runs for 115 miles from Swansea to Milford Haven, Pembroke Dock and Fishguard Harbour. The line features some interesting aspects such as an interesting sea wall between Llanelli and Pembrey and bury port. This is the line in its entirety. And this is the line so far in Train Sim. I hope to Upload the route once its done on ATS and/or Train Sim Community. Not sure which one I will upload it to but if anyone has any experience in this sort of thing please reply to this thread. I will post further updates as I develop the route further!
*UPDATE* I have been working had on track laying and I have layed the tracks as far as Carmarthen! The route is coming a long very nicely and I hope to finish track-laying in maybe a 1-2 weeks! Unfortunately, I don't have any signal diagrams for the route so I might have to wait to see if I can get hold of one. If anyone knows a good signal diagram that includes the West Wales Lines, please reply to this thread. That would be a great help. Anyway here's the route map so far: This has Carmarthen at the top and Gowerton at the bottom. I forgot to mention aswell, this is my first route, so don't expect anything amazing. I was just amazed when I first played train sim that there was no West Wales Line, considering Pembrokeshire's amazing beauty, which I hope to capture within this route.
*UPDATE* I working hard keeping up production of the route and I am proud to say I have reached Milford Haven with the track-laying! work has started for the Pembroke & Tenby branch to Pembroke Dock, and, after that, the Fishguard Harbour branch. I hope to complete the track work in maybe a week and maybe a full beta release in 4-6 months! As I've said before, I don't have any signal diagrams and I only have a cab view up to Carmarthen so signals will probably be completely correct up to Carmarthern and then they will be guesswork based on Google Maps with AWS ramps and the time the signal was implemented. I do, however, have a sectional appendix which is extremely helpful. Here's the route map for today. I am going away for a few days after this so production may slow down but will still be happening in the backround. I've added a pole at the top so, if you wouldn't mind, just select your answer to the quetions! Thanks for reading, Anson
I remember the area for the only mono-lingual road sign I have seen in Wales for more than 40 years - it was a directional sign that read "Texaco Refinery".
Interesting. It is a legal requirement to have all signs in their native language and English in the UK. This means that, in Northern Ireland, the signs have Irish on them even though no one actually speaks
Just starting the signalling. It's going okay so far. There are a lot of repeating/distant signals on the first part of the line
Hi Guys! I'm sorry about the lack of updates. As I said I am away for a few days so production has been pretty slow. I hope to get the trackwork done maybe next week. If not, the week after. Anyway, the route seems to be coming a long nicely so a beta release will probably be this year. The route will be released on Train Sim Community under the name 'Anson Rail Studios' Thanks for reading, Anson
*UPDATE* Hi guys! As I said in my previous post, I am very sorry about the lack of updates. But, today is the day we get another update! As you know, I've been working hard on the track laying and you also know I have layed the track to Milford Haven and started work on the Pembroke Dock branch. Well, now, I have completed the line as far as Tenby! Here is the route map so far and it seems, to me, to be coming along better than I thought! I hope to get another update out this week with the Pembroke Dock branch complete! Work will then start on the line to Fishguard Harbour, and, once that is complete, the signalling! Anyway, Thanks for Reading!
*UPDATE* Been working hard and layed the track to Pembroke Dock! It might take 3 or 4 days to complete the track - laying and then we'll see how it goes from there! I'll definately be posting development screenshots when I start scenery!
*UPDATE* Hello, everyone! I'm glad to announce today that the track laying is now complete! It took a few days longer than expected but it is complete now. Please note, the track around swansea is not the track from South Wales Coastal. The track around Swansea is now much better, more realistic and in line with the modern track layout. With the track being laid, the West Wales Line is now finally in Train Sim Classic in a non-scenic, non-signalled state. I hope you are excited for this route and thanks for reading.
