They published it early because it got leaked on Twatter (now X) and they wanted all the traffic on their official reveal, not the leak. The trailer itself looks impressive, but remember it's a masterfully crafted PR piece - it doesn't tell you much about the gameplay etc. Also, with no PC release, I don't see a reason to get excited...yet. Show the gameplay in action Rockstar and then we can talk
I don’t think that would have been right to do, 80’s is Vice City game, would have been a bit strange having it their again especially using the same city. I know theirs other years in the 80s but I think it needed a new setting which they have provided.
Trailer looks simply awesome. It'll be a long wait... Sadly no exact release date, but we can expect it March 2025 at the latest.
well, we don't know how much of it was tweaked and rendered on hardware far more powerful than the consumer gaming consoles? a populated and lively world, so much missing from TSW which is also more and more oriented towards the consoles.
A remastered 80s setting of Vice City with better graphics and better gameplay for sure had been a cool thing, too. But as I said, I never thought that would happen because of the internet and social media features a new GTA simply has to have. Having an 80s would truely limit the technology and with that the features (and even diversity of mission) inside the game. Some people raised the idea of a time swap like in Driver: Parallel Lines, but I've doubt on this as well because it would be for sure to much work for Rockstar modelling two completely different Vice Citys. A remaster of the old Vice City also could be cool, but unlikely to happen before we have our grandchildren.
I wouldn’t say internet & social media pay much of a big role in GTA, GTAV for example it had a small role and probably its biggest point, though a modern setting is probably more popular for various reasons. a proper remaster (the on they delivered was a bit under achieving for a remaster) for a lot of games aswell like the older GTA’s would be brilliant,
In GTA:3 and GTA:SA we only had the phone and/or messenger, in GTA:IV we at least could access the internet (Can't remember but I think it also has a mail platform). In GTA:V there is Lifeinvader (Facebook clone) but it more was like a website and joke when you access your phone or laptop. However, GTA:V is set around when it was released in 2013. Now, let's think about how much social media has changed since 2013 to what it is today. Facebook has become less popular, Instagram had its breakthrough in 2014/2015 and now in the latest years Tik Tok has become probably the most popular social media platform. It was clear for me that they at least try to go with the evolution of the technology. The trailer per see give us a evidence/hint that there might be an Instagram/TikTok clone in GTA:VI. But let's see how things really have evolved in the real gameplay in this regard, since it's just a teaser. And by the way, for me personally this feature does not has a much importance. But just going by thinking this could be important, I always thought that a 80s only setting would not make sense in regard how GTA implemented technology in the last games.
Going by the trailer it looks like they’ve taken a more social media style approach, i personally never saw too much use in it for a GTA style game, at least nothing what would make it a main feature, the other GTA’s pretty much before 4 kinda prove that aswell.
I only can guess one useful purpose of it could be to solve mysteries or even start missions, maybe we even can communicate with friends or contacts in a more dialogue way or make meetings or dates beside the missions. One thing I really like to see enhanced is single-player after all. And that we can purchase more cars (maybe even new houses) through the web there. That was really disappointing in GTA:V.
very much so, one of the best things about GTA San Andreas was all the homes to purchase and GTA V had non but the ones you were given, I’d really hoping to see that implemented this time, looks like a lot of the vehicles are coming across from V aswell going by the trailer many were recognisable. I’m definitely a fan of GTA for the story mode, I dabbled a bit with V’s online but I’m not really a big fan of Xbox live and much prefer single player experiences rather than micro transaction land, onlines content was good but it was the content not the online what was the highlight of it.
BUMP Online multiplayer has never really been my thing, though I've left it years late I've just got into GTA 5 online, even though I've owned the game for years and finished the story years ago. I've gone back after the new update. When GTA 6 finally releases, I wonder if anyone would be interested in a DTG forum Crew?
I'm taking a wait and see. Dan Houser and Rupert Humphries are gone, the genius writers who provided Rockstar games with their magic (as is Laszlo Jones, who added a great deal to GTA). Can you replace genius? The Rings of Power says no.
It's quite funny though, considering of the people that couldn't predict it is the game industry, Supposedly tons of developers were dodging late-2025 because of this game. Does make me wonder what the holidays are going to look like given that.
Well at least I will probably have changed/upgraded my potato PC by then! Just be too old and tired to play the game. Oh not forgetting it’s console only to start with. So the PC version will probably be 2028. I really will be old and senile by then (wife reckons I already am.. ).
This game is going to be incredible. It looks so freaking beautiful. My main issue with GTA games is once you have done the main story there isn’t much else to do other than drive around. There’s collectibles and side missions but it isn’t enough. There needs to be much more you can do and keep doing over and over again. This is where some Roleplaying things would really help. GTA V got so boring pretty quickly after the story was done. Hoping this isn’t the case with GTA VI. I just want to see lots of things that you can do afterwards.
Now we can start flipping the script. We really about to get GTA 6 before Tadami Line We are getting GTA 6 before the GE P42 (wishful thinking)
The Train in the that screenshot looks very detailed (obviously… it’s GTA 6 duh). I wonder if we can get on one freely. As in walk around in the carriages and choose your own seat just like RDR2 and even the first RDR did perfectly. GTA hasn’t done this yet as when you get inside the train it makes you sit down. The Freight Train in GTA V doesn’t count!!! :p :p
