I will have to check if the 377 runs from Wembley Central to Watford Jn and vice versa have Conductor mode as they are about 15 minutes.

Don't believe they do - at least they didn't when I last played

It always drives me round the bend when it says 'x timetables' - each time, don't know how I forget, I'm like 'oh my god, completing x whole timetables'? :D

I save scummed the 15 Conductor mode Mastery, as I just don't find that mode particularly enjoyable.

Interesting point. If you keep reloading the same conductor mode run to finish it after saving (say) five minutes before the end, will it count each completion as a new one? I know that’s cheating a bit if it works but no more than 30 seconds walking to the maintenance shed on SoS to get the scenarios done.

    Exactly this!

I saved just before the final Guard Buzzer press, at the end of my third conductor run, buzzed to end the shift, reloaded, rinsed, and repeated until all 15 were done.

    Excellent news.

Oh and just to confirm, the 377’s on WCMLS don’t have conductor (neither do the 423 runs on Frankfurt to Fulda).

Another tip for completing the 15 train conductor missions quickly:
Simply complete the 5-minute battery mission 15 times in the "The Holiday Express" DLC, and you're done. I'm not a big fan of the train conductor mode either. Nevertheless, TSW has gained another attraction with the train conductor mode. ;)

Ah, does that count as conductor mode? Good to know. In the meantime, I think I will actually do conductor mode on different routes, just to broaden my scope :)

FIFTEEN Conductor Mode in May 2025 Mastery for those of us who have Never and Never Will use Conductor mode !

Mastery is for train sim users ! Many of us NEVER asked for Conductor Mode, never use it, would not miss it, think it should be a DLC option per route for those who want to Pay for THAT !

Instead we ALL pay for that feature that is NOT driving trains !

What is next: ( i hate to guess, because who asked for Mattel ? ) ??

If you want to cheat your way to this one, do one short conductor service, save just before the end, reload and repeat. It should register each time.

No need to lose your marbles over this.

Just something different to do and more productive than sticking up posters or replenishing plant pots (IMHO).

I fear the marbles may already be in the very lost category as they have made a whole thread just to have a rant about it, this soul seems to be a long time resident of grumpy town.....

God these conductor jobs are boring sometimes you dont even check tickets you just buzz to let the driver know to go. Also noticed a lot of conductor services trains are driverless lol.

I quickly did one last night after finishing up with SimRail, Morecambe into Lancaster. I had one ticket to check en route to Bare Lane then none on the next leg to Lancaster. To add insult to injury none of the passengers (the train was full) alighted at the destination. Maybe the mode should include the ability to oik people out of their seats and off the train!

It's always bothered me there are passengers that don't get off at end of service destinations, in guard mode or otherwise

Interesting workaround, or exploit if you like…

Discovered purely by accident that “Sandbox Switching” on Sherman also ticks off Conductor mode. So all you have to do is load the scenario, walk to the marker and save just before activating it, do so then rinse and repeat. Took me about 7 or 8 minutes.

It also clears your 5 scenario requirement in the process.

So all that leaves now is the enjoyable bits, accumulating the mileage and the > 100MPH running objectives.

I tried a few different conductor services in Frankfurt-Fulda and WCML and the trains are always empty. So, no tickets to check.

Is this a known bug or something?

It is certainly a bug as I had the same thing on recent conductor runs but whether DTG are actively pursuing a solution remains to be seen.

Confirmed: also works with the sandbox switching on SoS. And with the 'batteries included' scenario on holiday express as Sparmi mentioned above.

Still, I've been meaning to play conductor mode for real, so this may be the moment. Will probably do some shorter ones on Cardiff and Zwolle-Groningen.

Still can’t bring myself to pay £30 for Cardiff, but yes the route is ideally configured for short, quick conductor runs.

I completed the monthly mastery with the cheat described above: during a 15-minute conductor trip, I saved the game when the train was already braking near the platform. And I loaded it 14 more times. Sorry but i haven't no time to the at least 5 hours for conductor mission.

I was wondering if you can save spam for the 100 MPH requirement, too? Just save before the final stop, then reload and repeat. That way you can get back to accumulating your mileage on more varied routes. No disrespect to Alex or Jamie who compile the objectives, but dropping in this 100 MPH requirement rules out so many routes including recents like Mittenwald, Dutch or even Cardiff.

In the 100 mph challenge from last month, I was able to accomplish it through driving a light loco Vectron on Mannheim-Kaiserslautern in free roam. Completed one path after reaching 160k and it counted. It could be that it won't work this month however, as the definition is slightly different ('complete 5 timetables' vs 'complete a game session')

It doesn't work the same way, as reloading from a save at the end of the scenario doesn't register the previously reached speed.

You could try and work around this by saving whilst going above 100 MPH before the end of the run, see if that work?

Ah not to worry, it was worth a thought as a shortcut to getting back to more interesting routes (or SimRail!).

Just the sound distortion which is a core issue, not JT's fault.

The electric whine of the EU07 etc. and EN57 in SimRail renders super smooth and is a joy to hear.

Anyhow a good, quick and enjoyable way to get the 100 MPH requirement done, is a fast HST from Leicester to Derby or vv on MML. Takes around 25 minutes and unlike doing same on (current) GWE with the (current) non cab door opening MTU HST, the VP185 screaming away is always a pleasure.

And, yes another guilty pleasure, also did a quick Newark to Posh on ECML with the Azuma. Not my favourite train in the game and still too quiet even driving from the south end with the parcels doors behind the cab and cab interior door open. But there’s something really zen about the route that I find quite satisfying and relaxing, even damps down my inner voice going, “I want a Deltic, I want a Deltic…” Part of me even hoped the TSW6 UK route might see the ECML extended, north or south, as part of an ongoing project to have at least one complete UK main line (okay, BML but not in the same league as a long northbound run) in TSW. But I got a feeling the renewal of the GWR licence will scupper that idea.

Oh and DTG Alex , for a contrast, next month needs to be the “Bus Stop” mastery. 15 runs where you don’t go above 40 MPH and complete 1000 station calls. (Dons flameproof jacket).

And… that’s May done courtesy of finishing a Fulda to Frankfurt run on my PS5 sub account to round out the mileage.

Feel a bit guilty about using workarounds to clear the scenarios and Conductor requirements, but then again as previously stated 15 of the latter was far too many and should have been set at 3 or 4, max 5.

I somewhat feel the same about the conductor services. On the other hand, also found some bugs in conductor services, such as drives without any passengers at all. Makes me feel less guilty :)

The game completely cheated me out of a conductor mission; docked me 1200 points for rejecting "valid" tickets that were blatantly invalid.

Not to mention services ruined by red-light bugs. Just barely rescued one going into Frankfurt by madly deleting stuck trains.

Like it or hate it, conductors are a part of rail operations, and conductor mode is part of the simulation. This is not "Train Driving Sim World'

Easiest way to cheese this requirement: finish a service in conductor mode, then from the exit screen hit "Load Last Checkpoint." This will take you to the point the train stops at the final station; opening and closing doors will "complete" the service. Rinse and repeat.

Another tip worth noting, if this crops up again. Slightly purer than using the SoS, Sherman etc. free play scenario and saving just before walking in the final marker.

Done with 12 days to spare. Could have done the distance challenge faster, but didn't want to playing too many high speed runs this month. I have to confess I used a few hacks mentioned here to complete the conductor challenge (apart from 5 actual conductor mode services).

So, time to speculate what the June Mastery will be. I reckon…
    500 miles/800 km driven.
    300 passenger station stops made.
The usual 15 pick up a teddy bear stuff.
15 scenarios or timetable runs in full summer sunshine.

For anyone who dreads the 'complete 15 route tasks' challenge, there is a quick way to get most done within a minute.
At Sileby station on MML, there are 12 route tasks in what is quite a small area. Jump to another station and pick up a few more and you're done for the month.

I think they generally try not to be too route or region specific, so as not to exclude those who may not have many of a particular type. I mean you could have a challenge drive 800km in the USA or Germany, but that’s not going to help anyone who only likes UK stuff. Personally I wouldn’t have an issue with that, owning as I do 95% of the DLC (even Rapid Transit), but Alex probably wants to avoid any sort of controversy when he compiles the objectives.
