Big steam sale is expected in a few weeks. It will probably include this dlc. I was just playing rapid transit the other day, and was pleasantly surprised. It's a very nice passenger route, especially if you own 182 loco add on.
Last year Steam had a Halloween Sale which is a week or so away - if not then the Xmas Sales won't be too far away Peter
Black Friday is also coming up between Halloween and Xmas (November 29) which might be another opportunity
I really wish I didn't blow my games budget for this season on red dead redemption 2 and ac odyssey, though
No shame in that, two superb games that should give you more than your money's worth back... assuming you're into big open world games, that is.
I do own it and wish I hadn't bought it: only one train, all passenger runs all the time and making the stops on time is way beyond my skills.
Since i bought the 182, this route its a very good one for me. Its a long one. Its pretty much detailed. Good combination of underground stations with rural areas. It would be awsome to have Leipzig Hbf, and RE services to Dessau... Also, add more S2 services in Leipzig area, and the stops are very long, you are like a minute in every station or more... this is pretty much unreal i think, at least for s-bahn services. They should do this like in RRO.
I agree it is not worth the full price, but combined with the BR182 it may be a nice addition with a 50% discount.
Bump. I have recently bought this in the sale along with the 182 and I am enjoying it although disappointed to see no freight, however, as I'm not too knowledgeable about German railways, I was wondering if freight actually operates on any part of this line in real life? Also, just out of interest, do any ICE services appear on any stretch of the line in real life?
There is the main station at Leipzig where ICE and other passenger services operate but it is a dead end so no freight in the area. I think there should be limited freight but because the route does not have freight sidings to work from/to is why you do not see any. Also there is no ICE train in TSW so far Peter
Freight trains would have to terminate somewhere north of Leipzig, but it should be possible to implement.
Where would they run between? You would see freight at Bitterfeld and then maybe as far as Leipzig Messe area and there are junctions that could take a freight away from the line but the run would be quite short by comparison as that run only takes 25 mins calling at all stations with an emu
Or Dessau to Bitterfeld, Dessau to Leipzig Messe... It would be a short run, yes. There's are reason we keep moaning for longer routes 24/7 here
