There is a lack of modern EMUs and DMUs on german routes. I list some trains which would fit on a lot existing routes. Flirt 3 (BR 1427, 1428, 1429, 1430) - BR 1428 on HRR (DB Regio) - BR 1429 on LFR and MKN (DB Regio in Rheinland-Pfalz livery) - BR 1428 on BRO (Nordwestbahn) - BR 1430 on SRM (Meridian/Bayerische Regiobahn) Coradia Continental (BR 440 and BR 1440) - BR 440 with 3 cars on MSB (DB Regio) - BR 440 with 4 cars on MAG (DB Regio) - BR 440 with 3 or 5 cars on BRO (Nordwestbahn) - BR 1440 with 3 cars on RRO (DB Regio) - BR 1440 with 3 or 5 cars on DCZ (Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn) Mireo (BR 463) - BR 463 with 3 or 4 cars on RT (DB Regio and Die Länderbahn, from 2026) - BR 463 with 3 cars on MAG (GoAhead/Arverio) - BR 463 with 3 cars on DRA (DB Regio, from 2026) - BR 463 with 3 cars on LFR (Mittelrheinbahn) Lint 27/41/54/81 (BR 620, 622, 623/1648, 640, 648) - BR 640, 648 and/or 1648 on RSN (Hessische Landesbahn) - BR 1648 on RRO (Abellio) - BR 620 and 622 on KAH (DB Regio, also Rurtalbahn as AI) - BR 648 or 1648 on MAG (Bayerische Regiobahn) - BR 648 and 1648 on BRO (Nordwestbahn) There are also many routes where the Lint can operate only as AI: - BR 1648 on RT (Abellio or Start Mitteldeutschland at Dessau) - BR 648 on HRR (Nordwestbahn/Rhein-Ruhr-Bahn at Duisburg and Abellio at Bochum) - BR 622, 623 and 648 on HBK (Nordbahn at Bad Oldesloe and DB Regio at Lübeck) - BR 648 on LFR (DB Regio at Koblenz) - BR 648 on NID (Hessische Landesbahn at Glauburg-Stockheim) - BR 648 on FTF (Hessische Landesbahn at Fulda) There are of course also other EMUs/DMUs which I didn't list in this thread (for example the Desiro HC).
Desiro HC in Franken Thuringen Express variant, BR445... Stadler KISS would be nice... one of the EU variants (160 or 200), but if DTG ever does Peninsula Corridor after electrification, then the US variant would rock
I agree and for the Stadler KISS Caltrain and MBTA the key difference between the two one of them is dual door operation the Massachusetts bay transit authority but Caltrain is only using the single level door. Could make it complicated on which doors to open depending on the MBTA stops. Something you encounter in real life at Worcester line and the Northeast Corridor Trenton to Boston
