Announcement Cts: Tram Publishing Rights Transfer

Hey everyone,

We wanted to let you know that publishing responsibilities for City Transport Simulator: Tram will shortly be handed over from Dovetail Games to ViewApp.

When we first partnered with ViewApp on CTS: Tram, we were drawn in by the team’s passion, creativity, and vision to create something special. From those early days of development through to release, it’s been a real privilege for us to help bring CTS: Tram to life and ultimately share it with all of you.

We’re proud to have been part of the journey and we’re excited to see where ViewApp takes things next. They know this game inside and out, and we know they’ll continue to support City Transport Simulator and that they’ll continue to support it with the same care they always have.

We also want to take this opportunity to reassure everyone that this change won’t impact your experience in any negative way. In fact, it marks the beginning of a new and exciting chapter. As the original creators of the game, ViewApp are in a strong position to take over full publishing duties and steer the future of City Transport Simulator with fresh ideas and renewed focus.

In just a couple of weeks, ViewApp will present their vision for the future of City Transport Simulator, outlining what’s coming next. There’s a lot to look forward to - new features, improvements, and exciting developments that ViewApp can’t wait to share with you.

Is City Transport Simulator: Tram being discontinued?
No! Quite the opposite. We’re committed to City Transport Simulator as an active, long-term project. It’s not being replaced, cancelled, or neglected!

Who is now responsible for the game?
ViewApp is now fully in charge of City Transport Simulator's development and publishing!

Will the game still be available on Steam, PlayStation & Xbox?
Yes! City Transport Simulator: Tram remains available across all platforms. Nothing changes in terms of availability. All features will remain, and new content and updates will continue regularly.

Will the publishing change affect purchased content (like DLCs)?
No – all previously purchased content and DLCs remain available and usable.

Will my save data remain intact?
Yes, all save files in City Transport Simulator: Tram will remain intact and compatible with future updates.

Will updates and expansions continue regularly?
Yes! With the publishing now under ViewApp, we can tailor updates more directly to your needs and ensure a regular update schedule.

Why did ViewApp take over the publishing rights?
We want to act more independently in the long term, be closer to the community, and steer development more directly. This helps us react faster to your feedback and develop the game in the direction you want.

Will there be new content or expansions?
Oh yes! We’re already working on new features and improvements behind the scenes. More info will be shared later this May during our big online event with a first look at what’s coming next.
