Isn’t it about time the GSMR was active in all of the appropriate locos? The reason I say this is because I’m revisiting BML and loving how busy it is. I’ve not played it for maybe over a year or so. Sad to see GSMR missing from the locos.

I would agree, from the immersion point of view, but even when active, it does not do anything other than display the train headcode. A working Ebula on European trains would be a more fruitful use of resources.

Yep, even to this day there are too many "dead screens" in cabs. I'd love for GSMR to be added to previously released DLCs

I see talk of GSMR all the time and feel like I’m missing something. All it seems to do is turn on a screen that shows your service number… there’s no actual functionality beyond that? Seems like it would be a simple thing to have on every loco.

Irl you'd register the train on the system after you turn it on. Beyond that, it's basically a cab to signaller radio.

Fully functional GSM-R would require a fairly sophisticated AI system for the driver to converse with the signaller. Otherwise it’s really just a bit of eye candy in the cab at present. Or if TSW ever got MP like SimRail then that would be your means of communication with player manned signalboxes.

even if they pulled their own fictional Ebula-alike... like, maybe just show the data that would otherwise show on miniHUD/track monitor, but smaller and still readable :)

On consoles we'd need an extra couple of minutes' set up time as it'd be so fiddly to input the info.

Getting it going on the Expert BR 101 takes enough - or too much - precious train setup time (especially starting in Austria, because you have to find the Austrian network rather than the default German)

I usually do all the setup first, and then I do the Train number, and I do the data entry and registering along the way as I am already driving :)
