Romford is a only a 5 platform station but is elevated so you're looking at another large town's-worth of scenery. I just think there's enough to already build to make the LTS that DTG wouldn't add any additional branches. I do think they'd stick an AI Class 710 on it though. I agree it would be nice to have given it's historic links to the original London,Tilbury and Southend Railway even to the point that was initially put under the control of BR's London Midland Region along with with the LTS in 1948 (Both joined the more logical choice of the Eastern Region a year later). It would have been nice to have had it on the TSC version of the Great Eastern Line given that it was by then operated from the GE's EMU depot Ilford using Class 315s (plus 317s and 321s in times of stock shortages and when TfL took over the line). It's that omission that convinces me we wouldn't get it in TSW if either the LTS or GEML is made. Plus, the time period you want (late 2000s) would mean that DTG would have to build a 4 car Class 315 just for an 8 minute shuttle. I'd prefer to have two types of EMU that use the whole LTS line personally, seems a better use of their resources.
agree! i would love to see it in the late 90's/early 00's. either way id buy this on the first day of release.
Same as Ive said in another thread, They should design the scenery towards how it looks today, then ok with what ever rolling stock era they wish to use with slight tweaks on assets such as monitors for the departure screens etc for the scenery With current scenery it allows for easy expansions to include Up to date TT and rolling stock if need be and easy change out of assets to reflect this period without the need to recreate the scenery from scratch. From a personal point of view I would like to see this practice more often going forward, just create different asset libraries which allows for easy transitions between certain era's where possible
In some places that might be possible, and viable, but Central London’s skyline has massively changed in just a decade, let alone 20+ years.. the track work would need different variants too as I’m sure some places along the line have been rationalised or upgraded since 2000 too. It would be a big achievement, but a dual-era route would be a huge hit. It can’t be impossible can it..
I'm taking a trip down "Memory Line" with my old railway buddy in a couple of months. Have a look at how much the LTS has changed since I stopped working on it. The last time I went on the LTS/C2C was in early 2003 when I caught a 312 to the coast and a 357 back to London. As stated above, the scenery away from the London skyline between West Ham and Fenchurch Street may have changed very little in that time. A few extra towers at Barking and some new buildings around Southend, maybe a few sidings along the Tilbury loop are now out of use. The freightliner terminal has moved from Tilbury to next to Canvey Island. I think a current version with 66/357/720 but with an additional Class 312 DLC and a backdated timetable with older freight trains would probably be a good seller for DTG.
Yeah definitely, although if they made a backdated timetable with old stock, I hope they’d include more than just a 312, maybee a 317 and a 302 as well. (302 only if it’s a late 90’s backdated version.) (and for a 00’s backdated version it would use the already included class 357, plus new stock, the class 317, and 312.)
came across this front seat vid of the DLR and from limehouse (24:52 in, for some reason it wouldnt pick up the time I copied from), one can already visually see the C2C line in TSW Now that we have DLR AI on the OG Mildmay DLC guess we can add them here to run along side with the 357/720s...Scenery looks great on the way in towards Gateway/London Fenchurch Street
I love Wanderism's videos, I find his bus route videos so relaxing though I do wish he'd do more in my backwater of East London. Yes, AI DLR trains would add a great deal to that final run into the City from Limehouse but also as AI on the bridges over the DLR west of Bromley-by-Bow and at West Ham station. It's incredible how the latter has become such an important transport hubs. I can remember when it was one of the quietest stations on the District after local industry declined in the 70s.
True, but the stock would be more diverse (over 3 diffrent generations of emu) and I find the lack of mk1 emu’s in Tsw sad as I like those units quite a lot.
With such a high amount of "likes", Dovetail should seriously be looking into this suggestion! It's great, it has a big variety of services and the route from city to coast is both scenic and interesting.
Anyone wanting to see what the route would be like to drive. Here's a good cab-view video from 2011. And here's the Tilbury loop, the other way of getting from City to Sea.
Hi Guys. I was actually a Driver on that route for 4 years and I was driving the good old slam door stock 302's/305's/308's and then came the 310's and the 312's.I must say, that route was one of the best I had driven on in my 34 years as a Train Driver, I loved every minute of being on that line and the drivers at Shoeburyness I worked with, were excellent and we all had some good laughs and bantering. I would love to see this route in TSW5, either with the latest Trains and even with some of the old 302's, the best in my opinion. Fingers crossed, DTG listens to us all.
A like so to say expansion pack kinda like the flixtrain or the pendolino have like a class 312 or 302 expansion pack (312 would make more sense) and have a backdated Timetable with it.
I would prefer the old slam door stock too (1997 era would slam (pun intended lol), or early 2000 era for the most generational variety (3 generations of emu in one!!!) (but sadly no 302’s (but it could come out as a gameplay pack sorta thing with its own backdated timetable or smtn)). And yes Dtg please listen to the people!!! I’ve been waiting forever for the LTS
I was your payroll clerk from 1993-1995! It was a great line to work on, I was at various booking offices, then HR at East Ham Depot, then Central House payroll, then moved over to the Production team, mostly writing reports on the daily open door incidents.
I'm still friends with a couple of ex-Shoeburyness drivers from that period, it took one of them 20 years to admit to me that I overpaid him for a bank holiday weekend when he was actually on holiday in Spain. They shouldn't have given me a desk overlooking the line at Central, I'm easily distracted.
