There is some great work being done on the CC, but I certainly take your point regarding the performance issues. I’ve been using free roam a lot more for quick journeys, which inevitably improves frame rates and reduces stuttering.

Hey I agree even tho I make liveries. It’s a problem I’m concerned about due to how detailed my work can be.
Large Decal numbers means the system slows when a livery is loading in.

At speeds like say on the ECML then I will have missing coaches even only one unit.

Which essentially means we work hard to add more realism yet we and users by the price by the lag or the ability of the system.

So yes I agree with you on this. A foreseeable future problem if users that create liveries are switching off, and those that are already walking away due so many little DLCs that some call cash grabs.

Is making more of something a small majority feel quite strongly about repeat reskinned models a good idea?.
And by leaving the issue with missing coaches etc then is ignoring that a good idea too?.

Can I fully answer those questions?. Then no because at the end of day even if I could would anyone listen.

Especially from a Nutter like me.

    Lee✌.

How about completely rewriting the physics and handling from scratch?

Knowing Liams eye for detail, a 'large amount of work' may be correcting inaccuracies on the original model, reworking the physics, implementing suspension, slightly updating the inside of the cab compared to the original... I'd classify that as a large amount of work not just for the 2x retro liveries, but the GWR HST fleet as a whole to bring them upto modern TSW standards.

I must say, I do agree on livery designer. Yeah, it's a fun tool, but I simply don't use it, nor do I use liveries from the deigner in game. The simple reason being, is that I want to have a realistic looking mix of trains and livereis.

For example, if I have a few GBRf liveries for a route, I'll be going along and see a group of locos in completely differents shades of blue with the 'same' loco popping up multiple times. I just find it breaks the immersion, so I've unsubscribe from all my Creators Club liveries and just run with official content only.

I'd much rather just buy a new pack which does the variations justice, so I am on board (pun fully intended) with this HST pack. Plus it seems like a good way for Liam to get some return from all his hard work. No idea if I will get it at launch, but it'll definitely be on my Steam wishlist to pick up at some point.

Yeah that is immersion popping every now and then lol.

Yes this is what I like about Skyhooks tangent of going down the Cargo Line route. Hopefully we will see some German content at some point... is it worth making American content? well thats for Skyhook to investigate. As for some people claiming it to be cash grab material (I know you didnt mention it). Lets see these people who say its a cash grab do work for absolutely free of charge and see how they get on and pay their mortgage or rent & Bills at the end of the month.

Like I said before it would be great to see this pack of HST reskins appear for the GWE remaster. I mean we are getting the De Branded FGW power Car as well as the GWR and the intermixed FGW and GWR coaches with in the game and with the addition of the pack it will be awesome to see the variation in some of the sets. I can remember the amount of non end of the HST power car liveries that were floating about. So look forward to seeing some of them in the pack, even if some people think they are just a simple reskin.

Warning NOT sorry about posting HST power cars :P

If the HST pack has to be paid for....I have no issue with that. Liam has worked hard to give us free remasters. It's high time he got some reward.

Alongside my separate suggestion thread for Buffet/catering vehicle interiors, I would like to hope that the GWR Mk3 buffet cars have had the buffet counter modelled. However, this has not been mentioned and is likely too late in the process to be implemented. With that said, it would still be a great improvement to bring another level of immersion. Hopefully it will happen one day.

I'd happily buy a livery pack to support a remaster. Adding some variation to the GWR HST fleet will liven up the route too.

    Hentis how rude,

    Discrimination in here.

I placed post for reason. To see how you respond.

You and the Thread creator chose to ignore and treat me differently.

Bullied out so I know when I’m not included.

    Disgusting.

How is that being discriminatory and rude to him. if he has a problem then he can report me.

To be honest the liveries that are created are great as I know how much work goes into them, as I have spent countless hours creating them. But they still all look "basic". Its not a lie its the truth.

I dont think I was rude bullying or discriminatory, and dont have time for people that just like to throw those terms about willy nilly.

Behave, for goodness sake. As Jim Royle would say "Discrimination my axxx"...

You can't have everyone agree with you, the fella was just stating how he feels about the subject and has every right to state his opinion, you may disagree with it, but your reaction and post is being overly dramatic and is not his problem...

    Anyway...

It’s simply because you didn’t respond to his post and not because of anything you said. You did not continue a conversation with him and that has been misconstrued as discrimination by exclusion rather than it just being how forums work. You’ve done nothing wrong.

Here is a question about GWE, I am really looking forward to getting this wonderful update by Liam, but is there a way of keeping the original GWE, I have a lot of history with this route and I spent hours on this swapping trains at Paddinton, going out to Reading and back again.

All the original gameplay will remain and any user created stuff will still work. If you want to keep playing with the old visuals though you'd need to play on an older version of TSW or perhaps create a copy of the .Pak file on your PC (If that's what you play)

One can only hope for FGW branding, but yeah, it's cause it said on the roadmap "This has opened the doors for us to not only create classic liveries but also some of the special ones designed and operated by GWR." So when I saw special liveries, I just misinterpreted that as also including the BR liveries, so figured classic liveries must've meant something else. But when Liam explained what he meant, I re-read it and realised what the intention was.

As for the 387s, GWR still maintains a fleet of 30 of their own 387s in their own livery, which is the ones I was hoping would receive proper branding. Of course while GWR still operate the 12 Heathrow Express class 387s, they're in Heathrow Express branding, so that would ofc require another licence, and Heathrow have been very notoriously against handing out that licence.

Thanks Liam, I tried GWE in TSW4 last night and you still get the black lines on the Reading platform. I might try TSW3 to see if avoids the lines.

Hi Liam, I have had to go back to TSW3 to remove those black lines. Forgot how good TSW3 works compared to 4.

I think the TSW 4 had corrupted light baking so may not be the best version to use.

Can we just appreciate how far both day and light lighting, as well as visual effects, have come since early TSW days?

Yeah, but it happens in TSW5, so does 5 have baking problem or is it just shoe horned in under 4?

Well, I didn't say that... I mean... we have conductor mode.... Man!

I don't like putting TSW in a negative light - it hurts the inner fanboy in me, but you are correct - it is a rebadge - even the game icon, though it looks good, is a recolour of TSW4's.

Remember when 5 first launched if you had 4 and none of the 5 content, you got the TSW4 splash screen with the TSW5 logo over the TSW4 one, in the wrong size? That was fun.

    The wet platforms help, too.

I am totally with you here. Creators Club seems to have some big fans (people that say why create a livery pack when you can “just use creators club”) but I am in the camp with you that has 0 interest in those liveries. No offence to the people who make them and are very talented, but the limits of the tool mean they will never look nearly as good as even a mediocre livery pack. Creators Club liveries all have a MS paint feel, logos are off, fonts and spacing etc.

Not to mention creators club doesn’t address things like interior variations.

Hi Liam, thanks for all your work on this. Really excited as this is my local route. I’ve been watching the Paddington programme filmed during 17 / 18 and noticed a mix of classic HSTs mix blue and white but also the new class 800’s. Now that the GWR license is back, will you be looking to add this unit to the route as many were starting to run late 2017.

Also, congratulations on your new studio. Would a future extension of this route in this time period to Oxford or Swindon be something you would like to do?

Considering this statement from December, I think we have seen the possible layers fleshed out a little more by Liam. However, I was curious as to what WCML (South) and SEH would be contributing? Understandable if this info is not yet ready for public consumption, of course.

It's a while ago now but I believe I was thinking SEH for the JNA and MFA wagons while WCML for the Southern 377. None of these are confirmed still but nice to have given time and performance.

Great show! It'll still be HST's as the remaster is still that 2015/2016 era but there will be a lot of livery mixing between them.
And thank you :) As for any routes I'd like to do something new instead of an extension of an existing one.

Can't, because the late-2016 state of the modeled route does not have OHLE except for the run to Airport Junction (the installation work is going on, but peters out around Maidenhead): no juice for 800s to run on.

To be fair, there was a brief period where 387s and 80xs did run on electric between London and Maidenhead. An 800 wouldn't be that inaccurate. I wouldn't suggest one for GWE in its current state, but if one was made in the future then it appearing on the GWE timetable would be reasonable.

If Grump Dog Games was ever to rework the existing GWE to turn it modern with 800s etc., I'd buy it!

Or back date it to the late 90s with mixed GWT Merlin and IC Swallow HSTs. I would probably just post my wallet to DTG with a note saying “take what you want”.
