Set in 1966, this 83-mile stretch of the Chicago, Burlington & Quincy Railroad runs from Mendota, IL to Chicago Union Station — a hot corridor where freight meets commuter hustle. The full run of the “Racetrack” — CB&Q’s famously high-speed triple-track commuter and freight corridor east of Aurora. There would be heavy freight, including TOFC (trailer on flat car), Manifests, and mixed freights.

There would be 50-60 trains per day, There are several yards, those being Eola Yard at Aurora, Clyde Yard in the Chicago area, Zephyr Pit / Roosevelt Road Coach Yards, Mendota Yard. There were also several local industry spurs.

Now these Locos I would like to see in-game, in my lifetime, I doubt it, But who knows, anything can happen. And yes, with years of grime showing, they have done some work.

This would be a great vintage DLC and maybe a way of getting around the current railroad obstructions as regards modern freight routes. However as noted above, I just don’t see DTG in their current state as having any zest to produce a route of this nature.
