Hey guys! I have just joined you, I'm not familiar with how things are going here. I'm thinking of buying the C-424 before the Steam sale ends today. This will be my first railway module. But Steam tells me that Feather River Canyon Enhanced: Oroville - Portola DLC is also required. I just want the locomotive. Can't I run it on another map of my choice? And besides, I'm open to any good US loco suggestions you can suggest. Thanks.
You can run the loco on other routes using Quick Drive, or by making your own scenarios. Feather River Canyon Enhanced is only needed to play the pre-built scenarios that come with the loco, you don't need it for the loco to be usable elsewhere.
Anything by Diesel Workshop (As per the C424) and Searchlight Simulations. There are literally hundreds of repaints of US/Canada locomotives, all manner of rolling stock plus routes on the RWA (RailWorksAmerica https://railworksamerica.com/) website including repaints of the C424 all free but feel free to donate if you wish. You have to be a member but it's free to join.
