I know the route well IRL and can confirm that especially the stations were modelled really well. Good use of unique assets here.
I have two services available. Maybe that has something to do with the other layers (I have all of them installed).
Why would that be less jarring?
For the G6 to show up, you also need to have Rhein Ruhr Osten installed.
In timetable mode, after you select the loco you see the list of drivable services. There is a 'layers' button next to the search bar.
They are also not always correct. The time on the analog one doesn't always match the digital one /TSW system time.

If that's a problem for you, why play with dynamic weather at all? Just set custom weather to clear and you're good.
