The routes are going to get longer I believe. Sand patch summit is an old route but it is 60-70 miles and the german route with the ICE 3 is 60-70...

Here's an idea. If you can switch liveries then why not have the option to switch the routes year.
Unless they do it in sections. Extend it to oxford then extended it again.
If the line was extended down to oxford the class 220/221 could be added. Cross country terminates at Reading.
Richmond to stratford with the class 378's. (London Overground) Richmond to North Woolwich with the 313's. (SilverLink Metro)
