This is a good route
Nice one!
This can definitely be done. We have the technology
On the NEC, Washington DC is the ideal hub for multiple routes, along with Philadelphia and New York.
Amtrak, Metra, South Shore. Like Washington Union Station with Amtrak, DC Metro, MARC, and Virginia Railway Express.
Yeah, Capitol Limited, Empire Builder, Southwest Chief, Pere Marquette etc.
Yea, verily. And the P42DCs can substitute on the Hiawatha service if need be.
I love this alot. One thing I would add would be the dual flag, Beaver and Pac-man scheme SD40-2s.
Or Horseshoe Curve in the post Conrail era, Tehachapi Pass in the SP years, Burlington Northern's Crawford Hill, D&RGW/UP's Moffat Subdivision etc.
I second this as well
Burlington Northern, Chicago Central, Dakota, Minnesota, and Eastern, Soo Line etc.
I like this! And this will feed into Peninsula Corridor as well
Not to mention this would add more to the BML route as well
The Moffat Subdivision does as well. Hopefully the Joint Line to Pueblo and Tennessee Pass are considered.
Especially in the 1990s with GE D8-40Cs and EMD SD60Ms.
Speaking of Canada, Yellowhead Pass would be another route for TSW2
Amazing. Not to mention the Joint Line out to Pueblo would work as well, as it's pre BNSF.
These routes, Tennessee Pass and the Joint Line out to Pueblo would all be amazing routes to work with.
Speaking of Union Pacific/Rio Grande, How's these for a proposal? Union Pacific's Blue Mountain route in Oregon or Rio Grande/Union Pacific's...
The dash 7 would come in handy for SPG
And the GP9RM and GP38-2 from the Oakville Subdivision route could layer in here.
And CSX layers over head.
How about CSX's RF&P Subdivision, Amtrak's Capitol Corridor, Norfolk Southern's Washington DC to Atlanta main line, London Euston out to Crewe etc.
And we also need more detailed freight services as well on the various industries along the line.
Maybe bump it up to a set of 3 SD40-2s on some trains. Or SD50s.
Not quite. The NY&A provides regular freights as well.
Exactly right.
Excellent points
I second this. This is a very good suggestion.
I believe so.
I'm impressed. Bit lengthy. But, I think this would be great to see.
Not a bad suggestion, my friend.
Great for Rush Hour.
No problem. And of course, for MOW services you could throw in the pumpkin units.
And pushers as well. Namely the SD40-2 and SD50 lashups along with C40-8s.
Bingo.
Pretty nice looking
Out now.
I agree with this wholeheartedly. And the MP36PH-3C is a an amazing fit as well. Along with VIA rail.
Exactly. D8s were used as helpers on the west slope
I second this! And Baltimore as well
The CSX,CN and UP inspection trains would be fun ones. And NS.
Not to mention South of Manassas is where the high speed action really begins.
Well, blow me down. This is getting popular.
My, my. The ayes have it. Thanks guys.
Me too.
Well, I'll be darned. This is a pretty popular route everyone wants to see.
There's plenty of freight. Container trains for the docks at Southampton, oil and ballast trains etc.
Separate names with a comma.
