So, there have been many posts and wishes for the flagship of the Austrian federal railways (ÖBB): The Railjet! (I wish for it too!) The Railjet is in service since 2008 and serves connections to many european countries like Germany, Italy and much more! Top speed is 230 km/h and 60 exemplares, which consist of a ÖBB Rh 1116 locomotive, five passenger coaches, a buffet car (YAY!) and a cab car (Also YAY!), are owned by ÖBB. The Railjet wouldn't be so much effort to do, because the 1116 is already coming with Semmeringbahn, only a repaint is needed. Also, there is no route needed to build, because the Railjet can easily layer into S-Bahn Vorarlberg, Salzburg-Rosenheim, Semmeringbahn (and also Munich-Augsburg I think). The Railjet would be a great loco DLC and very much appreciated! So, please DTG (or also 3rd parties), don't miss this oppurtunity and give us finally the Railjet - I would definitly pre-order it!
Awesome, DTG or an other third party should DEFINETLY make the railjet. Maybe even if the expert loco from the survey became a reality, they could maybe make a basic railjet for the standard price and maybe an upgrade pack for extra features, so that both casual players and experts could enjoy this vehicle. But certainly agree, would preorder it too. Btw. maybe when the 1216 gets created one day if the railjet exists, make it include a railjet skin so that we can have even more variety.
you receive a wannabe with the release of the Semmeringbahn, then we'll see what DTG will bring in the future.
If so, then I hope that at least I could get Schnellfahrstrecke Kassel Würzburg. Just going to make a homemade Railjet then
Bring it on to the game there are two versions of it Germany Switzerland Austria-Hungary (Deutschland Österreich-Ungarn Schweiz) 1116 1216 Germany Austria Czech Republic Italy (Deutschland Österreich Tschechien)
new gen RailJet coaches also look much different from the inside... and I believe new NightJet is about to use Vectron 230, a newly boosted version of Vectron... I mean, pls, and detailed with expert features *railfan drool*
I personally have suggested this before and I think it would look best on either Bahnstrecke Rosenheim-Salzburg or the Semmeringbahn DLCs with layering opportunities to routes like S-Bahn Vorarlberg, Hauptstrecke Munchen-Augsburg etc.
any route that involves Austria and has IC traffic is pretty much RailJet eligible in-game as well as IRL
they will still use Taurus and Vectron, sometimes also new Vectron 230 for most RailJet/NightJet services, long-distance and international ones... those Stadler units (21 I believe was the order mentioned in press releases) are meant for services with more stops, since those are better suited to rapid acceleration and more frequent braking/stops and have like 20% more capacity than a regular RailJet... some units might go to CAT (though dunno if that comes to reality, cos more and more ppl are discovering that using RailJet or regular S7/REX7 is MUCH cheaper than that )
Game could really use the Railjet. Red 1116 from Semmeringbahn could substitute, as sometimes there are regular red Taurus on a Railjet. Best would be to make the Railjet a little more expensive, and give us both regular liveries: The ÖBB Railjet livery: And the CD Railjet livery: (This one actually runs on Semmering too)
there is also sth called ComfortJet... it is by ČD, and I am not sure if it uses Taurus or new Vectron 230 plus cab, but I think it also uses different coaches, not Viaggio by Siemens, but different ones jointly built by Siemens and Škoda... ehm, here it is explained a bit better https://www.railwaygazette.com/trac...for-d-viaggio-comfort-trainsets/61223.article
The Vindobona service Graz to Berlin Hbf via Dresden Prag Wien. For the 1116 how about this Eurovision 2015 livery for Semmering 1116 taken by Julien Seeling on SFS Innsbruck-Rosenheim
The question DTG Alex answered in the Rosenheim Q&A thread really gives me hope that there is happening something behind the scenes...
Found here (very last message): https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/rosenheim-preview-q-a-thread.79034/
yeah that really looks promising. however since there are three more (announced at least) routes in heavy development (Semmeringbahn, London Overg. and another Metrolinked US route), I believe, if ever, a Railjet will be coming in 4-6 or 6+ months. but more likely 4-6, depending on time investing by the development team
by the way DTG Alex I noticed a small spelling error in your message if that's something to be cared about. just to inform ya
I travel to Vienna like 1-2 times a week, so I always have tons of chances to admire RailJets of different shapes and sizes... among other stuff... ČD RailJet/ComfortJet also looks damn nice in its livery and at a station like Baden you can even see them pretty close as they blast past (with a nice warning on the PIS to stay away from the edge of the platform as RailJets blast away balls to the wall fast )
When I was a small child, I have had always a little bit fear of Railjets thundering through the station (maybe because of my ear-sensitivity), nowadays it had become a little bit better
Actually, yes! New livery, six (almost identical) coaches, a cab car and of course layers/scenarios/introductions. I think it's better to come as a "loco DLC", because when you want to buy the Railjet, when it's included in a route, then you have to pay another 35,99€ and download 5+ GB. I think the 1116 with the Viaggio coaches is the best choice, because this is the >>classic<< Railjet as everyone recognises them for 15 years now. (Just my opinion - would also be the best way for DTG, using the 1116 and "only" build new coaches...)
Wasn't there a German loco in the October roadmap, that turned into an Austrian loco in the November roadmap? Maybe it WAS the Railjet that was, because it was meant for Salzburg-Rosenheim, which is a German route, technically seen as a German loco, and then they decided to name it an Austrian loco, because the Railjet is from Austria. Following this idea leads me to a release from May on (6 months+ from November on) But it could also be, that the Simtrack loco is that loco i speak about...We have to speculate!
I don't think a Railjet was planned for Salzburg-Rosenheim as all RJ Services drive from Salzburg to Munich (or Kufstein) through without a stop in Rosenheim. That wouldn't make much sense. Though I would love to see a new route especially for this train with multiple stops. And layering for Vorarlberg, Semmering and Salzburg-Rosenheim of course.
You're right, I didn't knew this trains exist. It looks like nowadays a couple of RJ services in the morning and evening use an IC pattern between Salzburg and Munich. I don't think they exist in 2013 but I don't know and I'm too lazy to look it up
As I figured out in this post, the Railjet also has a very pretty cab car. I personally would like to have this as well (or even prefer it over the loco), if the DLC ever would come to TSW.
yeah the Taurus cabcar as I like to call it is really nice. I hope DTG doesn't leave us with no cabcar again like on the 101 DLC
they are giving us Taurus plus IC which is almost RailJet but without cab car RailJet without cab car wouldnt be RailJet, since the whole point of it is to be a highspeed push-pull consist unlike other countries' flagship trains which are usually electric multiple units
Yeah, I don't even think that there are railjets without a cab car. They( as far as i'm aware) run in fixed units, meaning the consist apart of the loco does not get seperated in service, just for maintenance and similar works. A railjet without cabcar would lose about 50% of sales, am AI only one about 30% I guess.
I am slightly worried that the modelers at DTG forget to move the center headlight above the cab windows if they plan to do the 1216 for the Railjet
Could RSSLO or someone make this pack? I would certainly buy this! I have seen the models from Roco and Piko and I like this train because it is sleek and stylish in my opinion. Perhaps JustTrains could make it.
I have recently seen a double RailJet at Wien Hbf, headed for Budapest (and possibly also somewhere else)... over 400m of cool
Doing research on making a proper timetable for that route and RJ trains did drive from Salzburg (kufstein) to Innsbruck and beyond but also through Rosenheim to München or Frankfurt. the morning and night train stopping at Rosenheim. the rest passing through. The Budapest - Zürich service drives combined from Wien Westbahnhof to Salzburg Hbf and then splits again. Can't wait for it to finally be announced and when released give salzburg the proper amount of trains.
During a Q&A live, I asked Alex if there was any news on the Railjet. He replied jokingly that we have to stick to what we find in the Road Map. Do you remember the presence of an Austrian locomotive in the 4-6 month section? Then this was removed, starting from December 2023. I think it was the Railjet. And Alex's behavior confirms it to me! And I'll tell you more... They have already created it, at least at the initial model level. But, for some reason, they can't release it yet.
